On the 2nd December 2002 Claudio Schranz of our group and alpine guide has been able to film clearly a beam of Noah's Ark protruding out of the ice on Mount Ararat. It was found at 4000m between the beginning of the Parrot glacier.

Yes, and thanks, but I was just pointing out that it was a rather circular argument. The Bible wasn’t written by men because a group of men said it wasn’t.
I understand that the Bible was inspired by God, but I won’t presume to go beyond that.
Sounds like
you have an assumption that
1. the degree of water vapor in the atmosphere is the same now as then.
Sounds like a silly assumption, to me.
or
2. that there was NO water canopy say as an outer shell at the upper reaches of the atmosphere.
No big surprise . . .
The Religion of Science has long construed itself as omniscient God.
My professional opinion? That beam is shot, and is gonna need replacing....
Of course not. He would have used a Mesopotamia Sawzall.
Amounts to a couple of inches distributed over the entire surface of the earth.
What kind of wood did Moses build the Ark out of.
Cheers!
Which is rather curious, when you recall that rainbows were first mentioned in conjunction with the flood. It is not as though the Genesis account said it had always rained, and then magically rainbows only appeared *after* the flood.
Rain and rainbows appear at the same time.
Also Google Airy functions. :-)
Cheers!
Why do you think they call them "miracles" anyway?
Cheers!
You said — I don’t think science has much to do with the explanation for the Biblical flood.

Well, on the contrary to your statement, there are those who are scientists who think differently about that, than you do.
It’s also obvious that those scientists who do are in a position where their positions and jobs are threatened (and you can find those who are fired for even merely “mentioning” a “consideration” of some of these things...).
Thus there appears to be an “institutional science jihad” against those scientist who voice their own scientific considerations of the matter, which is completely against the scientific methodology. It’s more akin to the Inquisition... So-called “science” (i.e., the “institutionalized” kind...) has come full circle and is engaging in its own “religious jihad” against the scientific methodology by “expelling” those scientists whom they don’t want to hear from... :-)
I would take you to one documentary on that issue...

There are scientists who are able to give explanations for this from the methodology of science and the processes that we have at hand (in how we do understand these process through the scientific methodology). There are groups of scientists who can and are able to do this.
Thus, we find that our revelation from God (i.e., God’s witness to us of these things, in the Bible) and science — is not in opposition to one another — but complement one another and say the same thing.
It’s only certain *people* who are in opposition to what the Bible says, and not the methodology of science, itself.

And also, it’s something that has been postulated by those scientists who have been studying these things, having to do with the Flood, that the atmosphere was a lot denser, too — perhaps by a factor of two, with a lot more oxygen in it — making it a completely different atmosphere than we are accustomed to right now.
It would have been oxygen enriched, a more evenly-distributed climate, growing a lot bigger plants and/or animals, too, and no rain, as the Bible indicates.
And you’re right, the “sign of the rainbow” is something that was given after the flood as the promise from God that He would never bring a world-wide flood again. There’s a good scientific reason for that, too.
True and honest science does complement and is in complete accord with God’s own witness to us, in the Bible, of what actually happened.

Yes indeed..., and we can see it in what God has told us in Romans 1:16-32
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible manand birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,
30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;
32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
There are your atheists for you, who deny God and His creation and His Word, and worship the “creature” and love their own “philosophies” better than God and/or recognizing Him... LOL...

And then — also — if you measure the amount of water contained in the oceans and spread it out over land masses with lower features and shallow ocean basins, you would have water covering every square inch of land to a depth of around 1 mile deep...
Now, it’s said by these scientists who are looking into the world-wide flood that the ocean basins were shallow at that time, the land mass did not have high mountains, it was not raining, at that time in our earth’s history, and that the atmosphere was denser and the amount of water contained in it was a lot higher as a result, along with a lot of water trapped below the surface which was released during dramatic tectonic changes that happened at the time and thus, releasing the vast amounts of water that did lay beneath the surface.
All that combined to bring us the deep oceans of today, the large volumes of water we see on the planet and the tectonic changes that produced the high mountains, of which we see marine fossils at the tops of those mountains...
Good points, and also it’s interesting that must cultures all over the world have an ancient story of the great flood which only a few humans in a boat survived which I believe point to the original story with Noah ...
Agreed on the atmosphere and so on, this would have kept out alot of the UV and had alot to do with the much longer life spans pre-Noah

I saw a chart that was drawn up on the ages of the pre-flood patriarchs of Genesis and the post-flood ones. It was quite an interesting chart, graphed on those ages...
The ones that lived after the flood had their ages declining, generation after generation, in a nice curve, going down to our present-day ages. To me, that showed not necessarily, initially, genetic changes but external and harmful changes in the living environment, that caused that dramatic change, and then it held constant, after a number of generations — having reached a new equilibrium, for living in the newly, recently-changed environment.

Oh..., I read recently that one cannot get a sunburn at the Dead Sea, in Israel. It’s depth, below the surrounding surface of the land, makes the atmosphere dense enough to shield out the sun-tanning/burning rays of the sun. You just don’t get sunburned there at all. AND ALSO..., there are some medical centers built around the Dead Sea, too..., because the oxygen content is denser and thus “richer” there and it helps the recovery of certain patients.
Apparently a denser atmosphere has certain benefits that we can even experience today, in certain places on this earth...
