Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, gave an Army brigadier general an order this week during a committee hearing: Call me "senator."
Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh of the Army Corps of Engineers had addressed male senators on the Environment and Public Works Committee as "sir" during the Tuesday hearing. When the time came to speak with Mrs. Boxer, the panel's chairwoman, he called her "ma'am."
Mrs. Boxer quickly interrupted him.
"Do me a favor, can you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am'?" Mrs. Boxer pointedly asked the general. "It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it. Thank you."

She is a first-class POS. I know. I live in Taxifornia.
I have a much better name for her, several in fact, if she does not like “ma’am”.....
Now’s the time for Letterman to say Boxer looks “slutty”.
Stupid bitch doesn’t even know that”Ma’am” is a sign of respect!
I’d be thrilled to have a general call me, “Ma’am”—but then, I’m much more of an American than that bitch is.
Wonder how her staff and the DNC feel about how hard she had to work to become Senator.
I think we all know what to call her.
All she demonstrated is that she is insecure, and doesn’t really believe she deserves the title of “Senator” herself.
"Actually now that I think of it, the C word and Senator are synonymous, aren't they?"
There’s a poll. You all know what to do!
Beck and Anne Coulter just discussing this.
If I had to address her I would simply not use any title, but I’d be thinking BITCH.
She is an arrogant despicable public servant who should be remindad that she works for us and we pay her undeserved inflated salary and benefits. She is not good enough to lick the mud off the generals boots.
Considering how I presently regard the US Senate, and Barbera Boxer's slimy behavior, I'd say she richly deserves to be called 'senator.' I personally would rather be called a cockroach. I'd find it less insulting.
Boxer is just another good Democrat. Hating the US military is a RAT requirement.
I guarantee the Brig. Gen. that asked that question worked alot harder for his title.
Oooooooooooh cockroaches are gonna be so mad at you!
I would have said, “Yes Senator, and I earned my title with blood and the blood of my men, so you will call me Brigadier General.
He should have said “sir”.
As you wish, bitch.
Well this Californian would very much like to see her relieved of that that burden of "guilt & insecurity". I'd be very happy to call her -- "Gone! Bye-bye, don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
Please God, let us have some one good and strong to run against her in 2010!
