Breaking on CNBC:
USSC delays Chyrsler asset sale!
Mourdock: USe of Tarp Funds in automotive industry was illegal
Obama admin had urged USSC NOT to keep chrysler deal on hold
I agree with you 100%. I’m thinking, what if the corruption becomes so publicly known that voters actually give the House and Senate back to the Republicans in 2010? Then Impeachment is back on the table.
Until then, the O Bus is gonna have a bumpy ride. Who’s going under it next? Timmy?
I’m not optimistic. Worse has transpired without much fuss.
I agree that there is a best-case scenario worth hoping for, but also submit that there is a worst-case scenario (the formal approval and legal codification of these activities from another branch of government) to be feared.
Before today I would have said, "yeah, and it'll be a snowy day in hell." But he might do it... oh, the suspense!!!
MO has her voodoo doll of ginsberg and is sticking pins in her even now.
We don't know. We don't even know where he was born.
“Solicitor General Kagan argued that the Supreme Court didn’t have authority to rule on this case.”
Why do I think it’s not wise for a new Solicitor General (who is so inexperienced before the courts that she had to send a subordinate to argue the govt’s last case) to tell SCOTUS what they do and do not have authority to rule on ?
I hope so, too. I wouldn't have thought that Ginsburg would have been the one to do it. But maybe Bambi is getting a tad too arrogant. Dictators frequently overreach.
Maybe SCOTUS will ask him for the BC. Would it be too much to ask?
Best news all day. Black Letter Laws still reliable. Time is running out for Chrysler owners.
This is simply THE BEST NEWS we’ve had since 4 November, 2008.
Justice Ginsberg will poll the court. It takes 4 Justices to hear the case, and 5 to decide in Indiana’s favor. I’m guessing that Thomas, Scalia, Alito & Roberts will cast votes sufficient to grant cert, those same 4 Justices will vote for Indiana and against Benito Obama when they hear the case, and Indiana will win the case or not depending on the state of Justice Kennedy’s delicate emotions the day he has to decide.
I don't think they are going to address the "constitutional" issues. Instead they are going to rule on whether the bankruptcy of Chrysler and the sale to Fiat is legal under the bankruptcy laws of the United States.
If it were a "constitutional" issue, I don't think Ginsberg would have issued a stay, as I'm not really sure she's ever read the thing. But there are a lot of non-constitutional issues that the Supreme Court hears every year and as a general rule nearly all the justices are pretty strict in their interpretation of statutory rules.
On constitutional issues, the Justices tend to be esoteric and often ignore the meanings of the words, but on statutory interpretation, they are all pretty hard lined.
I think this turkey is dead.
GOPers should point to this in their arguments over Sotomayor. The political leanings and social tendencies of a justice are not as important as that justice’s willingness to follow the law. Even when to do so conflicts with their personal politics and social belief.

Then click on Fox Business to the right to hear it; they’re commenting on the Chrysler/Fiat matter right now.
They must hold briefing and argument before June 26, because the the Supreme Court shuts down on that date. Fox Judge guy who looks like an old Eddie Munster discussing the matter right now...
Why do I think its not wise for a new Solicitor General (who is so inexperienced before the courts that she had to send a subordinate to argue the govts last case) to tell SCOTUS what they do and do not have authority to rule on ?
Another case of amateurs at the helm.....With an apologize to Texans....bHo is gonna learn real soon
Woo HOOOOsiers!
Obama’s team may have lost Kennedy’s vote by telling SCOTUS they had no business getting involved in this.
Even Ruth the most progressive on the court doesn’t appear to be on his side......Would love the vote to be 9-0.
Agreed.
And now, let us celebrate “activist” courts because they are saying something we agree with! Maybe.
You need to fix the typo—quod, not qoud.
