Obama goes first in a few minutes. He's speaking at the rotunda of the National Archives (you think we could get Nicholas Cage on that birth certificate thingey?) on his Gitmo policy and other man-caused calamities.
Vice President Cheney gets the rebuttal time. He's speaking at the American Enterprise Institute around 10:45 a.m. EDT.
It was not too long ago I heard people clamoring for Cheney to shut up because he was showing no class criticizing the former administration. Dick Cheney is a patriot and deserves our respect and support.
Could you tip that telepromptor nose up in the air just a little?
I don’t think Obama looks “civilized” in that photo . . . I think he looks stoned.
I don't think I am exaggerating.
Cheney has almost succeeded single handedly, to insure the resigignation of Pelosi. The National debate on this issue will now take a giant step for the good guys, in spite of the leftist media.
God Bless Dick Cheney. Long may he live!
The worthy non-RINO pubbies will stand up and be counted now. If no one follows Cheney's lead then we're screwed.
(PS: At the risk of being flamed - please don't - I kinda prefer W staying silent. It's more dignified for the party and Cheney was always better at making a conservative argument than W was, anyway.)
May I ask where you lived?
We prefer to visit the Big Island and stay in Kona.
Maui is overpriced and Oahou might as well be LA.
Let him get a job mucking horse barns or cleaning out chicken coops...those he could do, all he ever does is shovel & 'slang' $hit anyway!!!
That anti-American channel is blocked here—UPDATE?!
I love me some Liz going after people going after her daddy!!!
Woot!!
Who would replace her?
Thanks for this thread...I might have missed one of my “all time” greatest moments without it.
I think it may be time for my....Darth Cheney... to reappear in DC.
How much I respect that man is unmeasurable.
LOL ... that, too. My reaction is
the contrast in looks they choose.
Whoa! That's right.
Funny, but people said the same thing about Cheney speaking up. This is beyond partisan politics. It is about our national security. Bush, as a citizen, has an obligation to speak up. Obama has attacked and blamed Bush from the day he took office. Sitting in silence not responding to this slander just acts as tacit approval that the charges are true.
I have no earthly idea where this bufoon gets his facts or information, but he's dead wrong. He could not prove one single fact in this entire sentence...not one.
It's just more cheerleading and campaign talk.
Only now, he's screwing around with the safety of myself and my family....and that I will not put up with.
"Speak bluntly. Euphemisms are interpreted as weakness by our enemies and mislead the American people. Speak of killing terrorists and destroying their organizations. Timid speech leads to timid actions. Explain when necessary, but do not apologize. Expressions of regret are never seen as a mark of decency by terrorists or their supporters, but only as a sign that our will is faltering. Blame the terrorists as the root cause whenever operations have unintended negative consequences. Never go on the rhetorical defensive.
And...
". Never accept the consensus of the Washington intelligentsia, which looks backward to past failures, not forward to future successes. "
And so we have an elected president that is declaring his intent to do harm - realy, physical harm - to the american people. Or, at least, has openly admitted that he has no wish to protect them or the constitution.
If these are not grounds for immediate impeachment and removal from office, I don't know what are.
Beautiful! Bring on the live debate! BRING IT ON!
That’s why GITMO is the perfect place - taking Cuban school children hostage (if they could get NEAR a Cuban school with weapons) would be about as fruitful for getting prisoners released from GITMO as taking Belgian ones. While we would certainly try to get any children freed, Cuban (or Belgian) parents will not be seen on TV worldwide, rioting outside the prison, demanding that we capitulate to the terrorists’ demands. I’m unfortunately certain that if American school children were held hostage for the release of prisoners in American prisons, at least some of those parents WOULD.
