Montana Governor Signs New Gun Law

Executive Summary - The USA state of Montana has signed into power a revolutionary gun law. I mean REVOLUTIONARY.

The State of Montana has defied the federal government and their gun laws. This will prompt a showdown between the federal government and the State of Montana. The federal government fears citizens owning guns. They try to curtail what types of guns they can own. The gun control laws all have one common goal - confiscation of privately owned firearms.

Looks like Montana just stood up and told the FedGov’s they are WRONG on this.

Could it be the Governor has nothing to do with this?

This was a re-election campaign promise he kept. He supported this bill and signed it.

I’m with you. The idea that Wickard v Filburn has any bearing on this case assumes that the Supreme Court is the highest law of the land. That IS the leftists/statists’ assumption, but it doesn’t have to be ours.

The state legislature simply has to say that federal laws will not be enforced in this manner, then back it up with countering any attempt to use force to enforce those laws with local law enforcement arresting the fed enforcement agents.

Whoever wrote this doesn't understand how the Interstate Commerce clause of the Constitution has been (mis)interpreted by the courts. That interpretation reflects the view that by the simple act of manufacturing guns and ammunition in Montana that is not sold outside Montana still affects interstate commerce since fewer guns and ammo will be imported into Montana as a result. That will affect the sale and transport of guns and ammunition in the other 49 states. Sound convoluted? It is convoluted but it is also "the law".

It's not that they don't "understand" the way the law has been perverted. They're not asking for clarification. They're simply saying what anyone smarter than an elected official already knew but also repudiating that wrong interpretation as respects firearms and saying that they'll no longer pretend it's correct. I fail to see a problem.

Excellent.

States should speak up and demand their rights. I hope this pro-state thinking is a new movement. First Texas, now this.

Excellent.

An influx of residents would mean increased demand for - let's see - housing, stores, utility service, medical services, construction, car lots, real estate, roads, schools, etc. In short, everything that benefits those many cities/states/regions that try so hard to attract growth.

I’m confused. They have a democratic governor and elected a democratic senator and the entire state has been trending democrat... I thought it was just those “crazy” republicans in Texas who talked this way. /s

But back in 1942, this country wasn’t living under the threat of being turned into Northern Cuba by a bunch of Democrats in DC who have no regard for the Constitution and a bunch of Republicans caving to the majority and worshipping the president who has shown no bones about the fact he wants to reshape America into his psychotic Marxist wet dream.

I have one question.

Is there any Hollywood actors involved in this enterprise? Because there are a few Hollywood actors like Robert Redford who have helped screw this state up through the years.

The length of time a people believe a wrong thing does not make it right.

How long did entire populations believe the world was flat? Did the length of time they held that belief make them any more correct?

There are several manufacturers in anti-gun states. Smith&Wesson could move to Montana. Or maybe they’ll wait until bigger states copy Montana’s move — such as Texas.

What you fail to release is that the moment a state they would create a border, and immigration would be required. If Montano succedded every crackpot in the country would be headed their, that would be a bunch I would want to avoid, talk about tin foil hats, they couldn’t import enough tin foil into Montana to satisfy the demand ...

He owns property in all three, and has been involved in influencing the politics of all three.

Robert Redford is one of the largest land owner in America. He has consistently supported any policy that bans humans from the wild.

Oops ..

What you fail to release is that the moment a state succeeded they would create a border, and immigration would then be required. If Montana succedded every crackpot in the country would be headed there, that would be a bunch I would want to avoid, talk about tin foil hats, they couldn’t import enough tin foil into Montana to satisfy the demand ...

The first step should be to argue it as a state rights issue.

What I’m taking from the Montana and Texas initiatives is that it appears there is finally push back to the Fed’s attempts to usurp all state rights.

It will be interesting to see just how far the Marxist Onada’s crowd will go to cram socialism down our throats. But, to be fair and honest, Republican administrations have stood by and done nothing while The US Supreme Court whittled away at state and individual rights. I’m talking in particular about the Warren years up to the appointments of Alito and Roberts.
