I'm going to try one more time to explain what FR is all about.
Free Republic is a conservative site. That does not necessarily mean it is a Republican site. In fact there may be many Republicans we don't support and some Republican issues we cannot agree with.
I'll throw in Arlen Specter as a prime example of a Republican we cannot support. Should be obvious to all why not. Should also be just as obvious to all that we cannot support Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, John McCain and his lap dog Lindsay Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, et al.
Some of the issues we cannot support as conservatives even though sometimes initiated by so-called Republicans include TARP, or any kind of government bailout of private enterprise, federal intrusion into free markets, federalized education systems, government provided or controlled health care systems, abortion, gay marriage, amnesty, global warming, gun control, etc.
I guess there is more than one definition of conservatism floating around out there, and this won't be text book, but the one we use involves defending, preserving and protecting our constitution, our unalienable rights, our traditional family values, our American heritage, our nation, our borders and our sovereignty.
We aggressively defend our rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness!
We aggressively defend our rights to freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to keep and bear arms, right to due process, right to equality under the law, right to be governed under the rule of law, right to constitutionally limited government, right to corruption free government, right to self-government and our private property rights, etc.
We also aggressively defend our right to state and local government for all issues not expressly delegated to the central government by the constitution.
We aggressively defend our rights to free markets and our rights to live our lives free of government intrusion, interference, coercion, force, or abuse of any kind.
We aggressively defend our rights to national sovereignty, state sovereignty and individual sovereignty!
And this definition also includes aggressively fighting against all enemies foreign and domestic who may try to deprive us of our rights or sovereignty. This would obviously include all foreign enemies, but also we defend against RINOS, Democrats, liberals, socialists, Marxists, communists, militant feminists or homosexualists, radical environmentalists, etc, etc, etc.
And we expect our elected representatives to also aggressively defend our rights and fight against all enemies foreign and domestic. We do not elect people and send them to DC or our state capitals, etc, to reach across the aisles or to be bipartisan or to negotiate or compromise away our rights. If you're not going to aggressively fight for us, and for our rights, STAY OUT!!
We bow to no king but God!
Our God-given unalienable rights are NOT negotiable!
Do NOT Tread on US!
Thank you very much!
I didnt bother, I voted for chuck baldwin, and no it wasn't a vote for Obama, Mccain actually won my state. of course the republican representitive I voted for didnt win.
Shall I ping the Alert Roster?
haha,I dont think enough people have weighed in on this subject at 1100 posts lol
You seem to say a LOT of things that you do not know the meaning of...
****
So you want to belittle me for not knowing the naughty side of words, Well it just proves you Elsie are more worldly than me!
I dont know what people did before insurance,,perhaps things werent so expensive. Certainly we pay more for high tech, new treatmens and the litigation problems.
- - - - - - - - -
And that is my point. Things were not so expensive. The expense of medical care has been driven up by insurance companies and the government rolling over and paying whatever the hospitals/doctors demand.
I realize that new technology costs, but the increase in health care costs far outwheighs the cost of the new technology treatments. We are being gouged in order to force the issue of Socialized Medicine.
June Carter Cash (Johnny Cash’s wife) told this story in one of her books about visiting one of her daughters in a hospital in England (socialized medicine). She was appalled at the treatment her daughter recieved. She demanded a private room or transfer to another hospital and was told that the could not do it because of the National Health care laws. Even with her celebrity, money and some power she could not get better treatment for her daughter.
It will be worse here and for us ‘little people’.
What we need to do is make the health care industry more free market, that will lower the prices. Mandatory insurance will only drive the prices up more and the quality down.
“Or we can work to get conservative candidates. NO MORE COMPROMISING”
I agree that good candidates, and addressing election fraud, should be our first concerns.
Some people also seem to be itching for a fight, I would suggest that the place that may be justified at this time is against thugs attacking Republicans at political events and intimidating them at the polls. The police, at times, have been reluctant to respond. We should insist, including party leaders, that this will not be tolerated and that we will use necessary means to defend ourselves.
I agree that faith is necessary but the Bible says that faith without works is useless. I am not LDS, grew up Southern Baptist, am now a Methodist with a little Hipshot from the Rick O’Shay comic thrown in.
Seems to be pretty populist these days. More than a few Freepers need to rediscover conservatism.
anything involving Romney,McCain or God help us another Bush brother is something to run from..
“If YOU don’t like seeing liberal RINOs exposed then perhaps YOU should stay off of a thread dedicated to exposing one of the biggest liberal RINOs there is. And if YOU think Myth Romney is a “past candidate” then you are being very naive”
As I have already stated, and I named four candidates that I would support. I believe a candidate with vision, honor and a sense of duty can easily win in a fair election (which is a growing problem) and will make Romney irrelevant. If that doesn’t happen then the candidate will be selected by the opposition, as they tried to do with Bush (it backfired) and did with McCain, and will be defeated anyway. You can hurl insults and tinkle in the wind but it won’t make a dang bit of difference.
To all those who think a slick hair do on a RINO can turn him into a conservative, I invite you to do what Ronald Reagan told all moderates to do, GO YOUR OWN WAY.

One of those “moderates” was Romney’s dad, George...

Mitt has problems but communications is not one of them.

Too true...
Romney had no trouble communicating to us that for 40 years he has been a
draft dodging,
gun grabbing,
abortion-on-demand pushing,
same sex marriage/gay rights advocating,
big government,
mandatory universal health care insurance pushing,
AMNESTY pushing,
trade with ouyr enemies pushing
Anti-military
liberal
The message can in loud and clear...
“Can you hear me now, Amwerica?”
“Yes, Romney, we hear ya...
And the answer is NO””
“We bow to no king but God.”
Motto
And...as far as Romney goes...I trust no man who wears more hairspray than I do. (Probably Aqua Net...;))
Not every type of proselyting is evangelism. Example: Here's a negative type done by religious legalists frowned upon by Jesus:
"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are. (Matthew 23:15)
Mitt is so gay

ROFL.
I am not advocating doing nothing. There are many things that need to be done. Good candidates (and Mitt is NOT one of them), election fraud, bullying, purging the party of RINOs all need to be done.
We need to decide where to start. Purging the RINO’s is my first choice because if we do not take back the party then all other work is for naught.
Glad to hear you are a brother in Christ.
Well said, colo.
“We need to decide where to start. Purging the RINO’s”
Well, the only way to purge the RINOs is to replace them with good solid candidates, and you have to have honest elections to do that.
In 2000-2004 I thought that Republicans had a 5-8 percent handicap because of voter fraud, I am not sure if this increased in 2006-2008 or if Republican support softened because of the candidate. I think the “financial crisis” was manufactured and that may have had some impact, especially considering the dismal response from most of the Republicans.
