I haven't posted in a very long time and I hope the pictures post correctly. The Convention was held in Orlando at the Gaylord Palms. It was a fun, informative event and nice to put a face to all the Freepers. Our thanks go out to ROOS_Girl, MinuteGal, and seekthetruth for organizing the event. Thanks to Surfer for moderating...what a great job he did. Special thanks to all the speakers who shared their knowledge with all of us. Please share your comments about the event.

I was so impressed with the info that Kristinn & 3-D Joy gave us about what the DC chapter was doing at Walter Reed. I believe we had two FL Freepers step-up Saturday “adopt” the VA hospitals that are close to them to start visiting and getting donated items to. Can someone remind who they were and which hospitals?
Will do. Accepting the role of as leader for the Southeast was not originally in the plan...lol.
But now since I have done that I am spending a fair amount of time organizing several things that need to be done.
I will be following up with several of you and we will need to start to work together on several initiatives to make our region very relevant in our ongoing fight to take our country back.
Good news...out of this convention we actually have a potential candidate to run for the Senate. This is going to be a very exciting time for Freepers in Florida and we are going to do a lot over the next several years.
We must keep up the good fight and we must bring it to our opponents and show them exactly how strong and determined Freepers are.
I am looking forward to working with everyone and continuing to gather the fantastic ideas and putting together some action plans to execute on them.

And I am ready to help in any way I can! Just ask!! I am especially ready to help elect constitutional conservatives to Congress and the Senate along with getting Florida a real conservative Governor!
Remember that I have the energy and the time to do whatever needs to be done! :)
Great meeting you too Mike. I had to look up the term “5.56mm” when I got home. Got it. I carried an M-16 back in 1971. Just didn’t realize what that term meant these days.

After meeting you and seeing how you handled our meeting, I have no doubts you are exactly the person we need to lead our region.
I look forward to working with you and other Freepers to take our country back. When I came home from the convention I proudly told my husband that I have gone from being politically active to a political activist. I have his full support and you have mine.
Let me know what needs to be done, how and where. I’ve got the time, energy and desire to help in any capacity I can.

Unfortunately, I'm blocked from posting on the Illinois forum when I come up for the summer and fall months. I can read it, but not post. This is because I'm a Florida citizen for the time being.
It's difficult to organize anything when one can't use the state forum as a vital tool.
One year, I asked JimRob if snow birds could have special dispensation and post on two state boards, but the answer was in the negative.
I may organize some kind of dinner meeting or something when I get back to Downers Grove, but I'm running late this year and don't know when I'm returning. I'll know soon, however.
Thanks for thinking of me. When I retire from my retirement down here and return to D.G. permanently, I intend to be active in the Chicagoland chapter.

oh what a wonderful report from you all.. good job & so happy that you were able to do this. Ohio has had mixed results with attempts to congregate.. I was with Western NY FReepers for one of their get togethers.. well actually several but one BIGGER one.. always fun to put names/faces together & talk face to face.
