The convention will be at the spectacular Gaylord Palms hotel and we've gotten a group rate of just $99/night on guest rooms. Convention Prize Clues:
1. Whomever wins the surprise, they will love it.
2. It is about the size of a bread box.
3. It is something Obama would hate!
4. Of animal, vegetable and mineral, the prize is animal....and is covered with spots.
Now my hubby has joined in on the guessing! By george, I think he’s got it!! But I won’t let his guess out yet!:)
I’m planning on arriving around3pm as well to get settled in and walk the gardens a bit.
The Sports Bar and Grill sounds perfect and poolside is even better. I’m thinking 7pm or so for a meet up time, that gives people enough time to arrive and get settled and meet up. Let me know what you think!!

Friends, you don't want to miss this once-in-a-long time experience so maybe you might want to stay at this incredible hotel on both Friday and Saturday nighta.
The gorgeous rooms are only 99 bucks plus the government's cut....make it a mini-vacation, maybe your only one....and remember, better you enjoy a few bucks now before Obama and Gaithner grab it and enjoy it for you.

You got that right! And they will grab it too, even though I tried to get them to put my tax bill on Timmy’s tab!

Thanks for posting the pics... they look even better than I thot. Concerning the pic of the H2O Sports Bar, behind my back taking this pic is the Piazza and the stairs from the Convention Center entrance overhead... therefore it is easy to reach... just FALL IN THE POOL! ;-)
The Java Coast Café is just across the concourse from the Villa de Flora, and in between is the Market Square arch. Once the visitor has blown a month's pay in the shops, just keep walking right across the 'Bridge' to the Convention Center entrance! hee hee
I should mention for all the guys on this thread - looking at the Java Coast coffee bar pic above - that I cannot guarantee that there will always be that many examples of young feminine pulchritude. The weekend I took the pic they were having a conference of cheer leaders; it seems unlikely that they will be there indefinitely. ;-)

I won’t tell my hubby!:) He saw the pictures and said, “There are lots of nice things to look at so know I am going to like that place!” :)

My hubby thinks the prize is a spotted hog piggy bank! :) Is he kind of close, Leni?
I have gotten confirmation from the hotel that only 10 people have made their reservations for a total of 16 guest room nights between Friday and Saturday. That just gets us to the minimum number that we are bound to per our contract. I have a lot more people than that listed on my about page that told me they were interested in getting a room.
You have until April 17 to get your reservation in. If you haven’t done so already get your reservations in quickly. The sooner the better so I have an accurate head count of who is coming and can plan accordingly.
And of course, if you’ve made your reservation I’m counting on you to follow through so I don’t have to ask for more donations to cover your bill!
Our Convention schedule is being finalized, three guest speakers are locked in and I’m looking forward to seeing y’all soon!

We’re planning to go. We’ve been procrastinating signing up, and we’ve been real busy workwise. New orders have been at a dead stop for the last 2 weeks
Marci, I live within easy driving distance of Orlando. I plan on attending but it would be an unnecessary expense to book a room. I hope you understand.

Hope all Freepers understand that Roos_girl & Committee need a head count on hotel reservations and also a head count on those just attending the convention. Helps in firming up and planning for meeting room size and refreshments, etc. Please let Chair Roos_girl know your plans as soon as possible if you haven’t already done so.
