Help me out here folks Could he really be this stupid????
Now Obama has insulted French President Sarkozy!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh no! Obama sent a letter to Chirac, saying he looks forward to working with him the next four years. Le Figaro, French newspaper is horrified at the faux pas. Doesn't Obama ever consult his staff before acting? Sarkozy is the President there! It's like Sarko writing to George Bush and saying he looks forward to working with him. Chirac is the FORMER president.
Here is a translation of the letter in Le Figaro:
Vendredi 20 mars 2009 OBAMA PREFERS CHIRAC !
Barack Obama does not seem to know that in May 2007, French voters elected Nicolas Sarkozy to the French presidency, to succeed Jacques Chirac who had been president for twelve years.
Yesterday, we told you Sarkozy is irritated because Mister O. refuses to tell him if he will accept to meet him personally in the next few months.
Strangely, we have just learnt this surprising piece of news :
Barack Obama wrote a letter to Jacques Chirac to tell him about his desire to "work with him" for the next four years ! In a letter described by Chirac as "very nice," Obama wrote, "I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world." The use of the word "peace" was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed.
This revelation was made by the online edition of the daily Le Figaro on Thursday.
Vendredi 20 mars 2009 OBAMA PREFERS CHIRAC !
So, if I understand well, Mister O., who has already despised Gordon Brown, behaving with him as if he did not know he is Prime Minister of Britain, does not even know the name of the French president.
I wonder if someone had told him, when he came to France last summer, that the man he met was NOT Jacques Chirac !
In any case, for Sarko, the blow must be terrible : he has tried to persuade Obama to invite him in Washington for months, and now he learns that his predecessor might soon be Obama's guest at the White House before him ! http://europumas.over-blog.com/article-29271371.html edited to add the original french article: http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualites/20...es-chirac-.php
THAT ZERO has chosen to IGNORE SARKOZY and answrs Chirac in this way is a direct affront and obviously Intentional as WELL! Your Wrong, ZERO doesn’t get a GO FREE Card on this One! just as the Media gave him one with the Britain Abortion!
Does the article indicate why the Chirac Foundation is releasing this information now?
Can we trade president with the French?
Is this from The Onion?
ping!
This has been barely reported and aired in France!
Just heard the news once and there was “no comments”.
There was no official reaction from the french government,to my knowledge...
Don’t know if it has been highlighted in USA by MSM...?
BTW the GOP and conservative talk-shows should slam Obaaama big time about this
THIS IS REAL !
It has been reported(barely)even in France.
You can check french MSM websites(lefigaro.fr,nouvelobs.com,lexpress.fr,lepoint.fr)
I heard it directly on RADIO FRANCE(public funded Radio) in FRANCE....
Actually, ignoring a current head of state you don’t like is a standard leftist move. The first thing Chavez did after his election was to visit France because he wanted to see Carlos the Jackal (who is in a French prison) and he completely ignored the French president (I believe it actually was Chirac at that time).
I tend to think Bambi’s letter was intended as an insult to Sarkozy. And that leaves us with the question of where the heck Bambi gets the time to sit around dreaming up actions like this (with his heavy TV schedule, after all). Bizarre.
This seems the most plausible. The Chirac Foundation is the co-sponsor of an Istanbul Conference called "Water for Peace and Peace for Water." Still, it is a major gaffe to send this out before having even a first official communication with Sarkozy.
Mssr Obama: une immense ballon de merde. C’est vrai. Il y une couille dans le potage.
You are totally correct. The letter was addressed and intended for the former president Jacques Chirac, as a reply to his letter of congratulation to Obama after the election. Chirac is quoted on a French website to say that he don't think the greetings have anything to do with his (Chirac's) stance on Iraq, but everything to do with Chirac's involvement in "the dialogue between the cultures". Although, nothing was decided the former president did not exclude the possibility of traveling to DC.
Of course this is a terrible insult to the present French president who has been trying to enter into a dialogue with Obama ever since his inauguration.
Who is next on the list of allies and important adversaries to insult?
Yes, but it is still an insult to the present president, Sarkozy.
Can’t say I’m surprised at Zero’s behavior towards a European nation; they were evil slave-trading countries, don-cha-know. What would surprise me is a similar gaffe towards an Arab or African head of state; THAT would demonstrate the Obama administration doesn’t know what it’s doing.
Yes: Maybe he just got confused.
President Carter was a Naval Academy graduate, a nuclear submariner, business owner, and Governor of Georgia before being elected president. Much as I detest the man, he shouldn’t be compared to Present_ent Obama. Hell, President Millard Filmore is head & shoulders above Barry!
ATTENTION EUROPE:
We may be in need of some assistance here pretty soon... I hope you’ll remember George Bush because he’s closer to what we should have leading our country, although not perfect - but who is...
Thank you — the children and grandchildren who were taught what Communism is and why it’s a threat to ALL OF US.... It’s why people in our families bravely fought to free you from Hitler. Forgive this idiot’s words — he is doing this on purpose to try to destroy our country...
That’s perfect! LOL
