President Barack Obama said he believes the global financial system remains at risk of implosion with the failure of Citigroup or AIG, touching off an even more destructive recession and potentially depression.
His remarks came in a 60 Minutes interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the worlds economy.
You're sitting here. And you're you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, "I mean, he's sitting there just making jokes about money How do you deal with I mean: explain. . . Kroft asks at one point.
Are you punch drunk? Kroft says.
No, no. There's gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day, Obama says, with a laugh.

“Someone giggling at a funeral would be a similar type of behavior.”
“Just like Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral.”
Or Mary Richards at Chuckles the Clown’s...
That Mary Tyler Moore episode has to be one of the funniest things I ever remember watching on television! LOL I remember it to this day!
Here is a concept that the people endlessly rah-rahing for their beloved "Johnny Mac" never understood:
John McCain is not a conservative.
While we're on the subject, John McCain is probably not a liberal, either.
John McCain is in favor of John McCain.
If it'll get him on TV or in the news, he's in favor it.
For bailouts. Against bailouts.
For giving away money to over-mortgaged idiots. Against giving away money to over-mortgaged idiots.
For free speech. Against free speech.
For higher taxes. Against higher taxes.
Gonna take a break to hammer out TARP. But wait! Not till he parties with Clinton & Bono!
Whatever. He doesn't have to develop core beliefs or principles. He's John McCain.
Have you ever asked yourself how utterly inept John McCain had to have been to have helped elect Mr. Obama? Do you ever ask yourself now how devoid of principles he has to be to kowtow to the Democrats over and over and over?
I watched the debates in dismay. McCain's speeches were banal and boring. McCain ran the worst, most disorganized campaign I have ever seen. It was so bad, McCain seemed to have stopped just short of endorsing Mr. Obama.
If elections were football games, McCain spent the last period running touchdowns into the other team's end zone.
So, here we are, dreaming about how great it would be if Hillary Clinton or Bill Clinton or Joe Biden were POTUS right now instead of the America-hating, Marxist Obama that is destroying America as we type.
I have never dreamed about Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton or Joe Biden being President. That you admit that you do says volumes.
In my dreams, the GOP didn't take the American Voter for granted and actually ran candidates with guiding principles and a plan.
Thanks for helping get Barack Obama elected, rabscuttle385.
Thanks for voting for a guy who didn't know (or much care) if he was afoot or on horseback. Thanks for telling the GOP that as long as their candidate has that magical sparkly R next to his or her name, it didn't matter what they did, said, or believed.
Hardy-har-har, Zero!
It's only "gallows humor" when you think that hope is lost. That would be a change...

This is not the first time you have outright resorted to name calling without even attempting to offer a cogent response to my argument.
You're pathetic.
In order for the GOP to win and stay in power, they have to run on solid new and Reaganesque policies and solutions. No “big tent” philosophy and no running on the “we suck less than the other guys” platform. If we just attack the Dems for their policies we might win the House and Senate in 2010, but if we don’t offer solutions our chances to hold Congress and win the Presidency in 2012 will be practically nil.
I know this has all been said before but it bears repeating.
One more thing. If the RNC and Steele don’t fully help Tedisco win in NY, Blackwell should replace Steele. PERIOD!!!

( Wow. )
Rush is not there tomorrow - Mark Steyn - you are right
Instead...the village of idiots put this man on a pedestal. Remember "The Hunchback of Notre Dame?" The scene where the crowd puts a crown on his head, and carries him around, proclaiming him "King of the Fools?" That's what we have in the White House. A punch-drunk, obsessed with himself, dumb and frightened Quasimodo elected to hold Fools Day festivities in the Oval Office for the next four years.
Thanks for the heads-up! I am now a supporter (there are now 730 of us).
I quit a job because one of the people I would be working with voted for ZERO. No time for them. Not my friends.
I would love to hear Cartman’s assessment of Obama.
I believe we are starting to witness a man becoming totally overwhelmed and going into an emotional implosion. He’ll be fanning his lips soon. This man is far too immature and inexperienced to be POTUS.
Biden better get in the batter’s box and God help us.
The Clintoon’s did not hate America, they are liberal. There is a difference in abusing the military and being for abortion and legalizing drugs as compared to hating whites, succesful people and the Constitution.
ZERO hates the United States and as you remind...
HAS SAID THE CONSTITUTION IS FLAWED.
He's not leading anything. He's a true puppet of the elites (Illuminati). How many of his proposals will be enacted? Only the one that the elites want.
What a disgusting pig.
Isn’t he??? A total degenerate.
Referring to the White House as “digs”, laughing about the economy that was CREATED to fail, and that piggish video.
Good grief.
