Barack Obama 'too tired' to give proper welcome to Gordon Brown
The London Telegraph ^ | March 7, 2009 | Tim Shipman

Posted on 03/07/2009 12:16:38 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Barack Obama's offhand approach to Gordon Brown's Washington visit last week came about because the president has facing exhaustion over America's economic crisis and is unable to focus on foreign affairs, the Sunday Telegraph has been told.

Sources close to the White House say Mr Obama and his staff have been "overwhelmed" by the economic meltdown and have voiced concerns that the new president is not getting enough rest.

British officials, meanwhile, admit that the White House and US State Department staff were utterly bemused by complaints that the Prime Minister should have been granted full-blown press conference and a formal dinner, as has been customary. They concede that Obama aides seemed unfamiliar with the expectations that surround a major visit by a British prime minister.

But Washington figures with access to Mr Obama's inner circle explained the slight by saying that those high up in the administration have had little time to deal with international matters, let alone the diplomatic niceties of the special relationship.

Allies of Mr Obama say his weary appearance in the Oval Office with Mr Brown illustrates the strain he is now under, and the president's surprise at the sheer volume of business that crosses his desk.

A well-connected Washington figure, who is close to members of Mr Obama's inner circle, expressed concern that Mr Obama had failed so far to "even fake an interest in foreign policy".

A British official conceded that the furore surrounding the apparent snub to Mr Brown had come as a shock to the White House. "I think it's right to say that their focus is elsewhere, on domestic affairs. A number of our US interlocutors said they couldn't quite understand the British concerns and didn't get what that was all about."

How pathetic is this excuse? It’s either a lie of evidence that the guy should resign and give Biden the job. At this point in his presidency Ronald Reagan was 70 years old, facing much worse financial woes and looking good doing it.

the strategist said. "He's still calm, but there have been flashes of irritation when he thinks he's being pushed to make a decision sooner than he wants to make it. He looks like he needs a cigarette."

Still voting "present" I guess?

He was facing exhaustion from all his around the country partying and nightly cocktail hours.

He is too irresponsible to hold the office of the president and must be removed by any means necessary to return maturity to our government.

In all seriousness, this may be the only real job he’s ever had, by which I mean the only one with real physical and mental demands. Senators work long hours, but really, how demanding is it to vote like Dick Durbin tells you to on everything?

Being POTUS is unlike any other position in politics, and that this fool doesn’t understand it is why I was ahead of the curve when two years ago I was already calling him the dumbest 46 year old man in America.

I missed George W. Bush the minute he stepped into what used to be Marine 1 and waved goodbye.

In all seriousness, what kind of workout is this guy doing if he is 48 and is being worn out by a job that a seventy year old man accomplished with verve?

Too many posts to read so this is probably a duplicate, but didn't the Dear Leader host an off-the-record, let-your-hair-down party at the White House the day before the Browns arrived?

-So much for Obama being “cool” and “unflappable.”

This guy has been nothing more than a 'slick marketing creation' since day one. His whole campaign was nothing more than a slick 'smoke and mirrors show'. Why do you think the Clintons were so pee-owed! (no pun intended)

Now, the rest of America (and the world) is staring to find out what they 'purchased'.

“Overwhelmed” eh? This lightweight nonentity actually has to do a job now. He can’t hide behind a compliant and servile press any longer. Fact is, Sarah Palin is ten times the man Obama is. Nay, make that a hundred times more. Sheessssh, what a miserable crybaby and whiner. And this empty suit disses Churchill. I remember an anecdote about Churchill. He was once flying on a trip to one of those international conferences and he actually took the controls of the plane. He was about twenty years older than the Messiah’s present age. He was putting in 16 to 18 hour days, accompanied with many cigars and generous portions of Scotch. The pilot asked Churchill if he were tired. Churchill’s reply, “I’m never tired!” Compare that to this erzatz pharoah and his hip hop scum bag supporter Snoop Dung. Man, we’re in a world of trouble and he’s Commander-in-Chief. God, have mercy on us.

Remember when the Left thought it was a huge big deal if President Bush had done blow, how they said it would screw up his brain and it was a huge disqualifier even if he had done it decades before?

They KNOW Obama’s done blow, but suddenly it’s not a problem.

"There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment."

To all you Lefty Brits who hated "Cowboy" Bush and were orgasmic over Obama, I have one thing to say:

Not ready for primetime Hussein II
That big letdown when the cocaine rush burns out?

Can you imagine Hussein II in the White House on 911?

I imagine Hussein II would invite Osama bin Ladin to a sleepover and dinner in his honor
