Title: Worst-Case Scenario No. 3
Published: Fri, 20 Feb 2009
Description: Beck's 'War Room' experts imagine what would happen if widespread civil unrest broke out at home
" Tonight it's special it's the war room where war gaming different scenarios we -- not predicting that these things will happen if fact I'm I think everybody on the set is he's praying that these things don't happen but it's interesting we were talking in the middle of the break. The seed has been planted. Will it grow or will it die? That depends on each one of us. Thomas Jefferson exhorted us to refresh the tree of liberty with blood of patriots and tyrants.
This nation might have been saved the coming agonies, if we had parted amicably. That time is past; there will be a parting and it awaits the tipping point.
The book “Atlas Shrugged” was a warning of what could happen to this country if liberals got their way. There are many parallels to the social conditions and attitudes in the book and what we are seeing now. Basically, Ayn Rand predicts that society will fall apart if people become convinced that they are punished for the effort and the Government is only interested in redistribution of wealth to non-producers. We are edging closer to that with every passing day.
Thanks to Barack, the gun salesman of the month again!
Scary times ahead. I hope we see our way through intact.
This is certainly true, however, I think most folks do not realize that when it gets right down to it, congresscritters are cowards. The overwhelming majority of them are in public office because they couldn't make it in the private sector. If you've ever met a few of them, as I have, then you'll know what I mean. They fear nothing more than losing an election because they know if they do, it's back to the private sector where their BS doesn't fly.
At this point I don't believe blood is necessary to refresh the tree of Liberty. Showing up and confronting your congresscritter when they make public appearances, as I did recently with mine, and keeping up the phone calls to their offices, writing them letters, using every available opportunity to teach conservatism, etc., might be all that is necessary. This is not a liberal country and won't ever become one unless we let it. Right now, we face Obamalamadingdong because far too many Conservatives sat on their hands in the last two elections. Far too many of us sat idly by and allowed the Republican controlled Congress and GWB to let spending get completely out of hand. Now, we are paying the price for that apathy.
If we continue to do nothing, or if only a few are involved, these weasels will think everyone is in agreement with them. We need to show them that is not the case, over and over and over, as many times as it takes....
I have to disagree here. I think the necessary ingredient for revolution is hunger. And that could be in the cards.
Regarding the Fairness Doctrine - that actually might work more to the advantage of conservatism than of liberalism. After all, the liberals currently own all media with the exception of talk radio. (I would hope to be the first to file a law suit, in fact.)
What's good for the goose ...
Fabulous quote. Saving it for further use.
It’s seeped into the mainstream. Glen Beck is not the only one who’s brought up the issues of “civil unrest”. That’s the new catchphrase and more than just media types are discussing the real possibilities. That being said, possibilities are just that - possibilities.
I never thought that I would look forward to such a day, but I am, now. How I wish that an enlightened, Pinochet type (Petraeus?) would send the Congress packing and Obozo back to his community organizing.
Sen. Hubert Humphrey's statement, Know Your Lawmakers, Guns, Feb. 1960, p. 4 (1960): "Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."
But then that was the Dem Party of fifty years ago. The Dem Party now is the Communist Party.
It’s interesting that money (ie the stimuloss) hasn’t made us revolt. Maybe we all know deep inside that money isn’t really money anymore.
Wouldn't you love to see total gridlock, so much that not a single federal employee or elected official could get to work? Better still, do it when they are all there. Not being able to get to work is the last thing that would bother them. Now, not being able to get home, that's a different story.
There has simply got to be a way short of violence to let people express their dissatisfaction with what we've come to in this country.
But the solution is so simple, just vote the bastards out of office, and we won't even to that.
I disagree with his experts. We will battle one another.
Those in favor of government funding will pitch against those who don’t. There will be a civil war of sorts, with the “govies” encouraging the NG to fire at will.
A conservative teacher friend of mine says fairly regularly of his profession: "Those that can, do. Those than can't, teach. Those that can't teach go into administration".
Pretty much sums it up....
