What will fuel the fire of revolution in this country would be attempts to shut down free speech such as the Fairness Doctrine. I have to disagree here. I think the necessary ingredient for revolution is hunger. And that could be in the cards.
Regarding the Fairness Doctrine - that actually might work more to the advantage of conservatism than of liberalism. After all, the liberals currently own all media with the exception of talk radio. (I would hope to be the first to file a law suit, in fact.)
What's good for the goose ...

I've been saying that all necessary ingredients for civil unrest and organized violence (by usually peaceful folks) are all here with the exception of hunger. Toss that into the mix and I think the situation would definitely go out of control. Having said that however, the other factors only need to continue to digress and eventually a food shortage won't be required.

You're operating on the assumption that you would get to define where the middle ground is, and thus what the "two sides" of the issues are. You won't.
The Left will define the middle ground so that the moderate side of the Democrat Party will debate the radical Maoists. You and your side will remain shut out of the debate.
