Boy did you ever hit the nail on the head. Same condition as lots of teachers, they are there because they can't make it anywhere else.

A conservative teacher friend of mine says fairly regularly of his profession: "Those that can, do. Those than can't, teach. Those that can't teach go into administration".

Pretty much sums it up....

With all due respect to your friend...I take issue with that statement. There are a lot of dedicated, intelligent, caring and loving teachers out there who are trying their utmost to educate the students in their charge. They can’t help the chaos in the classrooms or the lack of parental interest at home or those dictating what they can teach, say and how to grade. They certainly work for pennies with no respect and no help.
God bless the dedicated teachers. They deserve all our help, respect and understanding and...I applaud them.

“Those that can, do. Those than can’t, teach. Those that can’t teach go into administration”.

That was a blanket statement.

I understand the situation in the schools. I’m sure your friend and friends we have that are teachers DO see what goes in in the classroom. We too sent our kids to Parochial school and no, it was not easy. We knew the money was better spent on tuition than other things so we chose to do without a few things so the children could benefit. I just know there are more than plenty of people who are educators and do it by choice...NOT because they cant’ do anything else.
