I wouldn’t either, but as a symbolic vote, let Martinez take it. He is not running for reelection and you can bet that this vote will be used against Corker in the future. It just seems like a dumb thing to do. I mean, did he draw the short straw or something.

Pray Psalms 109 with Corker, Collins, Snowe, and Specter in mind.

Maybe God will call them home immediately.

“There is still the chance to stop this bill, but it will take a lot of angry phone calls from a lot of angry people to a lot of senators who will be up for reelection in 2010.”

that is my hope...

I am confident Snowe, Collins and Specter are goimng to vote for the bill but not Corker. He is being malingned because one freeper jumped the gun and posted the thread with the wrong title. In fact, even CNN had the correct title, when the freeper did not.

Lotta hair triggers around here.

Yeah, and I've got my AR-15 magazines taped together in pairs as well. I think that we're all ready for a war these days.

It was a vote for cloture to end the debate. They called it a test vote to see if they had the votes to pass tomorrow. Corker will return to NO after this procedural vote but expect the three traitors to vote with the RATs.

Don’t know if Snowe and Collins have ever voted against cloture ever. Both always want to end debate even when they vote against something. Guess they don’t believe in filibusters. As for Specter, he believes in Scottish Law whatever that is.

-- The vote on the bill is tomorrow morning. --

Action starts tomorrow noon. Link to Legislatiive calendar and UC agreements (changes daily).

The Senate agreed to SHORTEN the rules-based 30 hour debate time between invoking cloture and voting on passage.

Ordered further, That if cloture is invoked on the amendment, then post-cloture time run during any recess or adjournment of the Senate on Monday, February 9, 2009; provided, that all post-cloture time be considered expired at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

Ordered further, That on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, after the Senate reconvenes, the time until 12:00 noon be equally divided and controlled between the Leaders or their designees; provided, that if a budget point of order is raised against the amendment, a motion to waive the applicable point of order be considered made; provided further, that if the motion to waive is agreed to, the amendment be agreed to, the motion to reconsider be considered made and laid upon the table; further, that if there is no point of order against the amendment, the adoption of the amendment be subject to a 60 vote threshold; further, that upon disposition of the amendment, the bill, as amended, be read a third time, and the Senate then proceed to vote on passage of the bill.

They have to know we are so angry we are willing to go to the mat. What would be the effect of a day without consumer spending? If we could organize and set aside a day (or days) that we spent nothing?

I don’t know if it is practical or of it would be enough to get their attention.

Thoughts anyone?

Corker is against the stimulus package. This was a procedural vote repeated over and over again before some of you go off the deepend and bombard his office.

You have it right. The Reps only chance to stop this bill was to stop cloture. Failing that, the bill just needs 50 votes to pass and it will. No amendments will be allowed before tomorrow’s vote. Elections have consequences. The Dems control Congress and the WH. They will get what they want. They only need Reps to share the blame. Any success will credited to the Dems.

What the heck is a test vote?

It means they want to see if Ted Kennedy is needed for the final vote. I see they got him in there. For some reason I would think, if a man has a brain tumor and cannot drive, or work, maybe he shouldn't be making important legislative decisions for the country? Just a thought.

But I digress, he is just as aware as any other marxist democrat voting.

I think that's what needs to happen. They need to beg for crumbs from the new messiah’s table in the next election. They are traitors..not just to the party but to the United States of America.

Corker vote was a procedural manuver...

What was the maneuver?

I think that a person on the winning side of a vote can say "Oops. I meant to vote no." and call for another vote.
