All eyes in Pennsylvania are on U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter and whether he votes for or against the $800 billion dollar stimulus bill, now called the new stimulus compromise that may go up for vote this evening.
If he votes yes, said one Republican strategist attending the Pennsylvania GOP state committee meeting in Harrisburg, He guarantees himself a primary challenge.
Up for re-election in 2010 which ever way he goes, it will be the vote heard round the world.
There is potentially no member in the U.S. Senate that has it tougher in the next six to eight months than Arlen Specter, said Dan Fee a Pennsylvania Democratic strategist.

Even Chester County surrendered 22000 surplus votes to a dem prez.. 1st time!
The Clinton fiasco was quite revealing.
The political class and the elites were in a frantic hyperventilating panic about how lying is not that bad. And the American people bought it. They knew what a bunch of liars they ALL were back then. They took their cue from the average American who decided lying was not that bad.
Now look at us. Lying indeed has lead us to today.
The union thugs don’t control the GOP voters. Specter only survived last time because both Bush and Santorum stupidly went to bat for him in the primary.
Interestingly, in PA, the Governor is always relected for a second term and the parties alternate holding the job. Rendell was smart enough to time his campaign to match that trend. Also, the out of power party always runs a weak candidate against the incumbent and saves their stronger candidates for the open seat four years later. It’s a weird 16 year cycle.
Absolutely! Snowe, Collins, and Specter can expect conservatives to support their opponents. PLEASE let them know...!!
I'd hardly call Lynn Swann a weak candidate...or weak anything.
I heard him speak in the same venue with the Guv...no comparison. Rendell was the weaker candidate, especially in the truth department.
Too late;these are the 3 Rinos who will vote for this catastrophe. It was just on Hannity.
I am living in PA and there is no way Specter will win in 2010. If he runs and no other Republican runs in the primary to unseat him, the Democrat is a shoe-in!!! I can no longer hold my nose and vote for this clown. I called his office today and asked that he not vote for this bill. I will vote for my first Democrat since 1992. I would rather get screwed by a Democrat then get screwed by one of my own party!
I pledge 100 bucks to whoever the RINO’s primary opponent is.
McCain was good, but Lindsey Graham was better (and I’m not even a really big fan of Graham)! I think we should all just let our Congress people know that if this bill passes, concerned citizens will band together to put billboards up on all our interstate highways with the names of the people in Congress who voted for Stimulus 2009! When the economy REALLY tanks, their names will be right up there as advertisement of who NOT TO VOTE FOR EVER AGAIN!!!
Actually, Santorum was just on Greta and said nothing about how sorry he was about supporting Specter, the jackass.
If I would have my way, those three pubbies who are playing nice with the democrats would be ostracized and tossed out of the GOP. Let's see how strong Mr Steele really is......
Same here and I’m not even a resident of PA.
I agree!...with billboards, also.
All the speakers were sooooo much better tham Obama and they didn't have teleprompters!!!!
I mailed the Honorable Senator Spincter a lovely Hallmark “Enjoy Your Retirement” card.
Yes...wouldn’t it have been good if we could have gotten rid of Specter earlier and not gotten stuck with Roberts and Alito?
Yes, let’s take out Specter instead of a Dem who voted for it...that way we can get a nice safe Dem lead and not have to worry about (R) votes anymore.
Are you still upset that he voted against confirming Timothy Geithner?
This cretin does it every single time. He never learns.
Thats part of his act. Act good when it doesnt matter be the worst actor when it does.
