Inflation Hypothesis Doesn't Measure Up to New Data (growing body of evidence contradicts Big Bang)
ICR ^ | January 30, 2009 | Brian Thomas, M.S.

Posted on 01/30/2009 10:54:50 AM PST by GodGunsGuts

Since the Big Bang story of the origin of the universe has been refuted by a host of external observations and internal contradictions,1 secular science has been forced to postulate additional, exceedingly improbable events to keep it afloat. One of these is “inflation,” which attempts to explain the apparent uniformity of the universe.2 But new observations by the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe are forcing cosmologists to revamp inflation, at the cost of inventing yet another miraculous event to prop it up...

==No, I do have success.

I doubt it. If anything your colleagues probably laugh behind your back at how far you are willing to compromise your faith to be accepted by your atheist peers.

Most atheists are in the liberal arts section of colleges, not in the sciences.

I do not doubt that he has good success.

I don’t understand the point behind the ramblings continually posted from this author.

If I were a rabid atheist set out to destroy the faith of Christians and keep Christianity from growing, I cannot think of any way to do more harm than to promote Young-Earth Creationism.

It's a Christian heresy. There's no other way to decribe it.

Fortunately, honest science cannot be construed as a religion in the minds of the sincere.

And how does "honest" science work when it's construed as an "anti-religion", is it "sincere" then?

Unfortunately, there are a significant number of posters on this thread that do not believe in any science that contradicts their religious beliefs. There are numerous posters on this thread that believe that the earth is only a few thousand years old, all life on earth was created in its present form simultaneously, and any science that contradicts either belief is, by definition, atheist.

I had never thought of it as a heresy. I’ll have to think on it.

I saw Hugh Ross several years ago. How do I say this politely.....he was not in command of the facts.

Augustine calls your arguments pagan. How do you respond?

"Thank you for your input, but I don’t believe I was speaking to you or expressed any desire for your opinion on the direct question I posed to the other poster. Good day."

My statement was clearly directed to DM and was for his benefit. Notice the references to 'you (DM)' and 'you'll' vs the reference to 'Bosh' and 'him'. My profound apologies if you got confused because your name was first on the ping list.

I certainly didn't want to commit a breach of etiquette by not pinging you. That would give you something to complain about would rather than addressing the Socratic vs Hegelian logic mismatch.

Oh wait...

Space itself is expanding, which means that every point in the universe can be presented as its center, with every other point rushing away from it.

Well, the earth must be exempt, because I see a whole lot of gnashing of teeth if the earth is remotely considered as one of those points.

You must have mistaken my post for an invitation to converse. It was not.

Good day.

That is precisely what YOU are doing. Are you projecting again?

Liberalism and evolution at this point are permanently linked.

You must have mistaken it as well, since you are.

Perhaps you should read the article. It has nothing to do with either evolution or liberalism. If you want to talk about either of those subjects, there are undoubtedly many other threads to choose from.

"No, I do have success. However, I have to do extra work to show them that nutball theories pushed by people like GodGunGuts are not representative of authentic Christianity."

How is putting the word of men over the word of God now representative of 'authentic' Christianity? Are you claiming that gnosticism is 'authentic Christianity'?

"So tell me, Dan: Do a word study on the word yom as used in Genesis and get back to me on why it absolutely, positively has to mean a literal 24-hour period in the first two chapters."

So tell me, Mike: Do a word study on the words 'evening' and 'morning' as used to describe the yom in Genesis and get back to me on why it absolutely, positively does not mean literal 24-hour periods in the first two chapters.

Don't just make snide comments and run away. Do some research and convince me why I am wrong. I'm open to hearing you out.

The initial error is their a priori assumption that science contradicts religion. A bad assumption and not at all a priori.

I honestly can't tell--is this satire?

I have to admit that, when I read your first post, I thought you were serious. It took a second read to figure out that it was satire.

That's the problem with these Young-Earth Creationist posts -- it's difficult to tell when someone is writing satire or if they're just plain ignorant and darn proud of it.

I have the same problem. In fact I think I misdirected a reply due to that confusion.

"Well, the earth must be exempt, because I see a whole lot of gnashing of teeth if the earth is remotely considered as one of those points."

IIRC, the entire solar-system is supposedly exempt from this expansion. IOW, the system best suited for observing this assumed effect is excluded by definition.

Just a little too convenient, don't you think?

==That’s the problem with these Young-Earth Creationist posts

Your problem with these YEC posts is that you can’t feel good about yourself until everyone compromises the Word of God like you do...not to mention the fact that we are steadily dismantling Darwood and his Big Bang tag-alongs (which includes the fidgety-Ross and his lesser followers, aka you).
