When Nikita Kruschev pounded his shoe on the negotiating table in the 1960’s the world was outraged at his barbaric behavior. Today a (supposedly unbiased) journalist throws his shoe at a world leader and where is the outrage?

The president then brushed off a question from a reporter who was asking about the greater meaning of the fracas.

Oh puke! The "greater meaning" is that there are rude, ungrateful people everywhere.

Question is this:

What would happen to this ungrateful, cowardly "journalist" had thrown his shoes at Saddam Hussein?

Here's a hint: Saddam's response would involve lots of torture and firing squads for the "journalist" and his entire family.

Once not too long ago, a woman like Dana Perino would have had her picture posted here by post #2.

Where’s the pictures of the ‘shoe thrower’?

I heard it was either ‘Mad Dog’ Lawerence O’Donnell or Chris Matthews. I want pictures!

Sorry that Dana Perino was hurt in the melee.

President Bush handled the incident in a strong, yet calm manner. Kept it from escalation into a larger confrontation.

The majority of Iraqi’s outside the Bathists are immensely better off now than they were when the butcher was in power

After watching the video of the attack of the shoes, I was and still am shocked by the relative slowness of any response to the attacker. No rushing of the Secret Service, no pouncing by the military folks. Just a very slow response. Apparently, they felt Dana had the situation, and the attacker, under control.

(Subby is here for you, my darling)

Get in line pal.

the president continued: "First of all, thank you for apologizing on behalf of the Iraqi people

al-Maliki should flatten Sadr city as a token of good will.

The fact that he can throw a shoe an NOT end up in a plastic shredder speaks more to the freedoms Iraqi’s enjoy now more than anything else.

The video of this assault was astounding. That lunatic muslim whipped one shoe and then the second, at a high rate of speed and with very good accuracy. The Prez had very quick reflexes and dodged this sneak attack very well. This was an assault, not just a little incident. I hope the perp gets a real good Chicago Tune-Up and spends years in prison for assaulting our President.

saboteur!

...from the French word (sabot) for clog, or wooden shoe.
..whereby disgruntled workers would throw their clog (sabot) into the machinery in protest, or to damage the machines.

Also sabotage

FWIW
