Constitutional crisis looming over Obama's birth location

The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others.

The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution.

WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.

The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

From a legal point of view, the words “Place of Birth”: “Honolulu”, “County of Birth”: “Honolulu” “Island of Birth”: “Oahu” and “date of birth;” “August 4, 1961” are all that are relevant. Those words appear on the Certification of Live Birth...

Nice try. Look at your own birth certificate it has the name of the hospital and signed by the doctor/midwife.

The original in 1961 would be typewritten and copied on microfiche not a digital media file.

I also have a short form from the state that I was born in and I have no idea where my original birth certificate is. I’ve used the short form certificate for more than 40 years now. It has worked for passports, Social Security and Life Insurance.

At the bottom of Obama’s Certification of Live Birth:
“This copy is prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding.”

You could not be more incorrect in your assumptions as to what is required to provide positive proof of natural born citizenship status or pending dual citizenship status.

A COLB is an abridged form that can only prove that one is a citizen of the U.S., not a natural born citizen, nor a U.S. citizen who could possess citizenship of another country. A COLB is an option for people who only need to prove they are a citizen, but wish to avoid divulging additional details to others who do not have a need to know.

Now that he is president elect, 15 different legal challenges have been brought forth which contend that the citizens of the United States, do in fact have a need to know what his original long form BC states, including any amendments to the effect of any dual citizenship status.

Had the FEC, DNC, or any other state level Secretary of State demanded this level of detail, these lawsuits would not exist. Instead, he would either have been cleared of any suspicion, or he would have been removed as a candidate much earlier if he in fact did not meet eligibility.

If individuals who wish to fill roles as public officials were required by law to simply meet the same background clearance requirements that I myself was subjected to as an employee in the military defense industry (Yes - only an original long form birth certificate sufficed for my SSBI clearance), we would not be having this conversation.

Birth announcements in newspapers are of ZERO value. Anyone who was born in another country can still have their announcement entered 2 weeks later after returning to US soil without having to divulge which hospital he/she was born. And birth announcements fail to shed light on any dual citizenship status (in his case, his Indonesian citizenship)

And if even one witness who presided over his birth could come forth stating facts of his birth in a Hawaii hospital with some corroborating facts, his situation would be helped greatly. His own campaign listed first a hospital in Honolulu that did not exist in 1961, and later then listed another.

Sorry, but a COLB will not resolve this issue for the range of possibilities that now exist for his citizenship status. Only the original LONG FORM CERTIFICATE can suffice.

Here's my take on the birth certificate, FWIW. (Since I read this whole thread... and smoked a pack of cigarettes as a result... I figure I should at least put in a little something I got from it... other than high blood pressure.)
It seems feasible to me that Hawaii [at that time] would be a place that a person could go to have a child if "records" were an issue. I am stunned at the Dunham's history. Not knowing who Obama is... seems to be his life story.

That along with the sworn affidavit of the Hawaii Registrar of Vital Statistics, Alvin T. Onaka, whose name is actually on Obama’s short form Certificate should suffice.

And that form was printed out by a computer. First, a lot of info is not on it. Second, a number of people likely have access to that data base and the ability to make changes. We want to see the original long form such as McCain's in post #748. IF the campaign is willing to release the computer form, THEN why not release the long form? That is the question that makes so many think obama is hiding something not just embarrassing, but something damaging. If he is doing it just to give us a hard time, then he is a child, not a president-in-waiting.

I have applied for a recieved clearances that required the long for Birth Certificate. That is not a long form birth certificate.
Most telling is Obama’s refusal or dismissal to conform with SCOTUS, with the 3rd Circuit court of appeals, or to even address the issue.
Why is the MSM not vetting him, or even reporting the concerns of millions of Americans, its news right? Very strange.
Obama’s Grandmother just died in Hawaii, strange that he is not having or going to a funeral for her, she is just waiting there on ice. Not exactly the way you would treat a person who raised you.
Also, evidence both recorded and visual of his Paternal Grandmother and Half sister that witnessed his birth in Kenya.
As for being Barak Obama II, I have no problem with that, when he was adopter by Lolo Sotero, he had a legal name change to Barry Sotero, and has never relinquished that name or applied for a name change. So any paperwork using Barak Obama is fraud.
Philip Berg has a court case with Chief Justics Souter.
DelFrio has a case with Chief Justice Clarence Thomas.
The DNC chair from California has filed a lawsuit against Obama (Sotero), that will withold 55 delegates until he proves US Natural born citizenship.
Since that time 10 other states have filed suit.
His Fact Check Birth certificate has been proven to be a fake, which is why the two cases have made it to SCOTUS.
DNC chair Howard Dean did not vet Obama correctly and could be implicated in this fraud against the nation.
Bigger fish seem to be pulling the strings.
To be clear, nobody is questioning that he would do a good or bad job as President, nobody is questioning if he is here at the right time or not. Its not a race issue, its a constitutional issue.
If he is lying, he has pulled the wool over 10’s of Millions of citizens of the US.
If he is disqualified. Another person who has qualified to be president can be chosen by the electoral college. Joe Biden ran for Vice-President so could not be chosen. Hilliary lost in the run-off, but did run for President, so could be chosen. McCain and any other person running for President who was Legally vetted in 50 states qualifies and could be chosen.
I hope, for the Nation that Obama is mearly stubborn, and will produce a real Birth Certificate, not that he would be my choice, but because I fear us falling into a civil war as a result of his disqualification. People tend to shoot the messenger, rather than realize that they were hoodwinked.

However, I do not believe that the modern certificate presented by the Obama campaign is a "manipulated image", other than the blacking out of the serial number and the fact that it was run through a scanner.

I think three different computer forensic experts have deemed them photo shopped and forgeries!!!

I wonder if this birthplace question, which won't go away, is why Obama, the Kenyan, has looked so distracted lately.

This thread has gone on for about 20 hours already. A lot of fascinating points have been made, and the argumentation has been heavy. While this thread may still have lots of life left in it (hope so), can most of us come to some preliminary conclusions?

For example

1. Obama not being open about his original certificate of live birth is, in and of itself, very discouraging.
2. It is also divisive, and is beginning to form cracks in civil society.
3. It shows that Obama's relation with the public is not as open and forthcoming as Americans expect from our leaders.
4. Obama's lack of documentation for his career to date become more disturbing in light of the COLB question.
5. BHO's willingness to fight in court against releasing his COLB claiming the contents may embarrass him, raises many questions about the character of Obama himself, in addition to whatever is in the COLB.
6. We are still unsure if his true current name is Barry Soetoro or Barack Hussein Obama.

There are lots of other statements we can agree or disagree on (even the ones above). But after this much effort, our understanding has moved forward, and it would be nice to sum up where we have got to so far.
