The California secretary of state should refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until President-elect Barack Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office, alleges a California court petition filed on behalf of former presidential candidate Alan Keyes and others.
The legal action today is just the latest is a series of challenges, some of which have gone as high as the U.S. Supreme Court, over the issue of Obama's status as a "natural-born citizen," a requirement set by the U.S. Constitution.
WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi even traveled to Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.
The biggest question is why Obama, if a Hawaii birth certificate exists, simply hasn't ordered it made available to settle the rumors.

If Obama's grandmother had survived until next Jan. 20, he would have become the first President ever to have a living grandparent.
Obama says he was born in Hawaii. End of story. We are not allowed to doubt his word, even if it is something he only knows because he was told later.
Madison Hemings, son of Sally Hemings, told the census taker in 1870 that he was the son of Thomas Jefferson (the census taker wrote a note to that effect on the census record). He later made the same claim to a newspaper man. The idea that Jefferson had one or more children by Sally Hemings is now accepted, essentially because of Madison Hemings' statement, even though he was at best repeating something his mother told him, since the DNA evidence is inconclusive (his father could have been Jefferson's brother or one of Jefferson's nephews or cousins). If white Americans question a black person's word, the only explanation is racism.
Obama has enough electoral votes that he could lose California’s and still win. If he was declared ineligible, the Democrat electors would still cast votes, so they would have to pick someone else, but it wouldn’t be McCain. If they didn’t agree and no one person had a majority of electoral votes, the House of Represntatives would choose the next President from among the top three, which would include McCain since there’s no way the Democrat votes could be split three ways and have 3 people with more votes than McCain.
To make matters worse, Obama then lived in Indonesia where he read the Koran and lived among Muslims and who knows what alliances he has.
Isn’t this all moot? He was born in the United States, right? Hawaii was a state in ‘61.
I don’t like him, either, but this doesn’t seem to hold water.

The Constitution is not in crisis, Obamunist Birth Certificate is.
Two questions here:
1. What is this "document" that is cited above?
2. Perhaps most importantly, the claim that "he doesn't have a birth certificate, he has a record of birth" in Hawaii seems to be wrong, as a matter of record (forgive the pun), given what Owen posted in 543, namely the article here: http://www.kitv.com/politics/17860890/detail.html?rss=hon&psp=news and the relevant quote,
"Fukino said she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obamas original birth certificate.
Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawaii, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obamas original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures, Fukino said.
Onaka and Fukino specifically used the term "original Birth Certificate", and not "Certificate of Live Birth". How much more can anyone want? Why isn't this good enough?
Because they didn’t say what was ON it.
What if the original birth certificate lists another father? Obama’s mother is unlikely to know exactly which black guy was the father.
This seems silly. Because his mom was too young to have lived the five years after 16? I could see if she was out of the country—but just because the math doesn’t work?
This, my FRiends, is what a coup d’bureaucracy looks like.
I see -— I fear -—— I am furious.
A tangled web of laws and rules and regs and that ubiquitous “procedures” - that at the highest levels, events can occur without a legal process in place.
It seemed silly too when Ayers got off on a technicality because the FBI illegally wiretapped him. Ayers should be in jail for murder.
NO what they are saying was that he was born in Kenya...
What did Fukino and Onaka NOT say? What is the glaring ommission?
Ok, so what you appear to be suggesting is, that these two people, Onaka and Fukino, didn’t actually look at the original BC, but somehow found it anyway, without searching for the name “Barack Hussein Obama”?
IOW, how did they find the original BC without using a name to search for it?
Oh my goodness. I’m HONESTLY trying to maintain an open mind here, but this is really reducing to the point of ludicrousness.
You tell me. What didn’t they say?
That's an irrelevant question as far as citizenship goes. If someone is born in a state, then they are a US citizen, even if their parents are from Mars.
