What grass-root organizations should conservatives join?
Vanity

Posted on 11/11/2008 7:31:07 PM PST by Ballygrl

I'm sorry for the vanity, but I'm really tired of sitting around complaining and I want to join a group to try to have an effect on upcoming elections, especially after seeing Sarah on Greta's show. I want to support Sarah and candidates like her. Dick Morris has touted The National Republican Trust, are there any other organizations out there I can support as far as time and some money goes? For the moment I'm done giving to the RNC, I'm kind of mad at how Sarah has been treated and would rather contribute elsewhere if possible to help out real conservative candidates, not Washington pinky out when drinking tea RINO's. I don't want to rule out not giving to the RNC in the future, but right now I'm mad.

*I joined FairTax.org.
*I joined The Heritage Foundation.
*Jim DeMint has www.senateconservatives.com to promote conservative candidates to the Senate.
*www.Thirty-Thousand.org is worth a look. I'm not sure you "join" but they can use contributions to defray the costs of their work. Their mission and proposal is a very good one in my opinion.
*Then there is The American Conservative Union: www.conservative.org. "The American Conservative Union is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots conservative lobbying organization."

You are to be commended for your work on the local level.

But the national GOP, its leadership, and its politicians do not see America through your eyes.

They just want you when they need you to get their flunkies in power.

Look at our national leaders in the GOP—they are a joke—in the House, the Senate, some of the governors, some of our Presidential candidates in the primaries—these people do not share conservative values. But they all are adept at manipulation of conservatives.

The Republican Party started when the Whigs would not stop the expansion of slavery into the newly created states and territories in the 1850s. The GOP started when principled men took a stand.

We have an electorate which considers Republicans to be totally evil, thanks to our feckless leadership over the last 15 years. We gave them the opportunity to do it right by working to give them the House, The Senate and the White House. And they managed to screw the whole thing up.

So now, we should fix them—again?

Let’s make a clean break, because the GOP will never, ever be the champion of conservative values.

To wit, notice the attempted destruction of Sarah Palin—which GOP leaders jumped to her defense? The silence was deafening, even McLoser’s lukewarm defense of her on Leno last night.Only conservatives protested-loudly- and Sarah is the GOP’s best hope for 2012.

The GOP can join our new conservative party when they see the light, if they ever do. But we will need to lead the way.

Saving the GOP is useless-they don’t think they need saving. They think we need to be “more inclusive”.

Yeah, we’ve seen how brilliant that move was.

let this stupid RINO party die out, and rebuild from the ashes in 2 Years when the republican soil is purified from the Moderate Poison.

“Club for Growth. Free membership, I believe.”

Here’s where we wander astray. The ‘club’ may be conservative spending, but it stopped there. It is filled with Rino’s and libertarians. Steve Moore, the guy who started the Club for Growth has done more to pander to illegal aliens and open borders than just about anyone. He and his ilk destroyed prop. 187 in California. They also promote any and every trade deal that comes along.

Oh give me a break. That is ridiculous to try to associate me with being lib simply because I don’t agree with the title.

LOL!!

wasn’t about you not liking the title...

you expressed your thoughts and used the term “sounds like” rather than bothering to find out.....

Libs usually use “feelings”— which you didn’t do.....so that is one step in the right direction...

;-)

calm down.... you expressed you didn’t want to be rude... but proceeded to share unfounded assupmtions.....just deal with the consequences of doing just that...

life is too short to continue to defend yourself on such a silly move...just laugh at yourself, get on with your day, and get back to fighting the libs....

That’s exactly what it’s about.

What you do not seem to grasp or understand is that your title does sound like so many of the phony American groups.

Geez, what is your problem? If I were you I would look into a mirror. It is you who are bullying and shouting to the rooftops a comment which you took entirely out of context. Only libs insult and put people down for simply expressing their viewpoint which hardly in the catagory of liberalism.

Then don’t join ‘em. I have supported them in the past because they work for fiscal hawks. I think those are candidates worth supporting.

It depends on what else those candidates support. Like McCain. The Club for Growth loved him.

Yeah, 'cause McCain--for all his warts--is damn good on fiscal policy. I agree with him on that issue, and CFG IIRC, focuses on Congressional and Senate races.

I agree. I too like Palin but she is not the one we need. She’s already been torn to pieces by both sides. We need a brilliant , aggressive , articulate young gun on the scene.
