Vanity: Fox News Says Palin Did Not Know Africa Was Continent, Not Country

Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.

Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).

They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.

I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

Did Greta say this on air or in her blog? I’m too sick of it to even go to her blog.

Greta interviewed the Palin’s on the bus. Greta is smart and a lawyer, she sort of cross examine’s her guests on air.

When Greta spent time with Sarah I suspect she knew she was no dummy...

She is coming down hard on her side against the smears on air. She seems mad as Hell.

She *may* not have been as polished as Biden, but she didn’t lie through her teeth as he did.

“She demonstrated a very coloquial knowledge of world affairs. She restricted her answers on foreign policy to energy policy and her ability to “see Russia” from Alaska.”

You are basing her statement about Russia from the parsed and edited hatchet job Gibson interview. What she actually said was clipped and edited from a reasonable and lengthy answer about being the only Governor in the U.S. that has to deal with two foreign governments in close proximity. The entire Gibson and Couric interviews were deliberately manipulated to cast her in a bad light.
While the media did everything they could to destroy her, they simultaneously did everything they could to elect Mr. Obama.
So accept whatever accusations you feel will serve your purposes, but put on your flame suit.

"We are not watching Fox except for Fox & Friends, Neil, Hannity, and Greta when she is on good topics. Then when Glenn Beck gets on we will add his show. Other than that, no more FOX except if we know a conservative will be on. We do not go to the other networks at all. :)"

I feel exactly as you do, seek.

Tonight's juvenile giddy-gossip-girl antics that Carl Cameron delightingly dished to Shepard Smith made me sick to my stomach. I mean LITERALLY sick to my stomach.

I'm DONE with most of FOXNews.

Sign me: Disgusted.

No doubt, but the 2010 midterms are coming up. If I were the RNC, I would be using her in various races. She can bring out the crowds and energize the base. Now that she has name recognition, she is a definite asset.

Obama will want 2012 and he will fight hard for it. I think that some of his folks feel right now is the time to smash Sarah and blame it on her party.

“She’s absolutely the only reason they got cash from me this year.”

Same here and for the first time in my life, I actually did volunteer work for a campaign.

Predictably, 521 voted "Gov. Palin hurt the ticket;" and 12,315 "staffers are mean-spirited and wrong" (96%).

Jindal must be at the top of the ticket. Which means that Palin won’t do number two again, probably. I think about those swing voters in northern Virginia, suburban Indiana, Charlotte, NC: Who’s better at communicating the conservative vision? I think it’s Jindal

Look, Palin is folksy and does connect with ordinary voters. All I’m saying is give another guy a look in the primaries. I’m betting that Jindal will connect with conservatives better than Palin will (assuming, of course, both run in 2012).

I could easily argue that Jindal is far more special than Palin (I really don’t like to get into these comparisons, but I will). Youngest Governor in the nation, competent as heck who handled the recent hurricanes, Rhodes Scholar, I mean the list goes on and on. And the best part, he won the Joe the Plumber vote in Louisiana by a landslide.

Resumes don't win elections. Palin has the most favorable ratings of any governor in the country. She is telegenic and an excellent communicator--superior to Jindal. In any event, both of them represent the future of the party. We need to bring them into the national spotlight and send a lot of these old hacks into retirement. Our candidates should not be chosen on the basis of seniority ala Dole and McCain.

In the Debate, Palin correctly placed Darfur in Sudan.

Biden erroneously said it is in Chad.

McCain needs to get in front of this, call a press conference, name the staffers who did this and fire the guilty ones on camera.
