Vanity: Fox News Says Palin Did Not Know Africa Was Continent, Not Country

Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.

Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).

They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.

I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

O'Reilly should not have allowed this report on the air. It was pure gossip. Right now I'm watching NCIS re-runs on USA. I've had it with the so-called news....

She was a mistake.

if you think she was a mistake, I encourage you to read my other posts on this thread. Having worked on the campaign, I can tell you first-hand that she made it possible for McCain to even get close. Volunteers, cash, event attendance - without Palin, McCain was toast.

Yeah, you have good sense. I think I am literally addicted to watching television news. Is there a Twelve Step Program for Fox News?

It is not just about winning elections. It is about what we stand for. It is about doing what is right. This is still a center-right country. and Sarah Palin is a perfect fit for it.

We can win elections. We did in 2004. But winning an election is not worth it if you do not have the right leader.

I believe you bring your best and play your game. dont appease the opposition and be something you are not. win or lose. because eventually it will pay off.

Believe me. Sarah is a winner.

The degree to which the MSM and the Dems have tried to destroy Palin is evidence enough that they recognize she is a political force to be reckoned with. I went to a Palin rally with my daughter in NoVA. There is a chemistry there that is hard to define. She is a natural politician. It is like seeing a gifted athlete who makes things look easy.

Palin can be a formidable political force with a little preparation. Imagine being plucked from Alaska and thrust into the middle of a national political campaign. Her performance at the convention and in the debate with Biden demonstrated her vast potential. She can get up to speed on the issues and learn Washingtonspeak. What can't be taught is the innate ability to connect with her audience. Bush, Hillary, Biden, and McCain don't have it. Obama does. And so does Palin to an even greater degree.

Hopefully, Palin will get engaged in the 2010 midterms speaking on behalf of Rep candidates. Her time will come despite the Dems, MSM, and country club RINOs attempts to destroy her.

‘“Stand Up Chuck” Graham was actually DEFEATED last night by his Republican opponent for his Missouri state senate seat. He’s been in office since 1996.’

Good news! I hadn’t heard. I voted against him, but hadn’t had the heart to listen to the news all day.

“Conservatives we have to ban together against McCain, rino’s and the GOP/RNC and kick their moderate asses to the curb. They are nothing less than liberal coddling, prix who LOST an election because of their inane stupidity by cockering up to socialist and liberals thinking they can win favor!

These people are just as much our enemies as the left! They haven't a clue how to win or govern!”

I agree. In regards to the media attacking Palin, we have to view with suspicion the various forces that apparently were working hard to derail her at key times throughout the campaign. There were too many shots taken by “unnamed sources” within the McCain campaign. I suspect Romney supporters, but could be others. These rats need exterminated because they seek to damage an honest, loyal American. Washington is crap full of vile people that can't be trusted. We should also “vet” the media pigs that attacked “Joe the Plumber” with such glee. Let's see if they find it amusing if everyone starts digging into their closets.

They are both gay, she is against gay marriage.
Not real hard to figure out the motive here.

Look, I agree that she’s energized the base, and has tapped into something special. But she is no Reagan. Reagan was truly special — a type of person we’ll never see for a long time. Reagan’s twin accomplishments of cutting the top marginal tax rate from 90% to 39%, and ending the Cold War are unbelievable achievements. Truly special.

I could easily argue that Jindal is far more special than Palin (I really don’t like to get into these comparisons, but I will). Youngest Governor in the nation, competent as heck who handled the recent hurricanes, Rhodes Scholar, I mean the list goes on and on. And the best part, he won the Joe the Plumber vote in Louisiana by a landslide.

I actually thought the same thing. Had Governor Palin stayed low-key in Alaska, done her job well and straightened out Alaska for two terms and come out of nowhere, she would have done well. By picking her out before she had time to mature, she’s damaged goods as the bottom half of a losing ticket, Another conservative Kerriganed.

Greta is disgusted with running the smears without attribution. Good for her. My respect for her has really blossomed since I’ve seen her covering this election. You can vote on Gretawire about the staffers criticisms.

She could sweep in an entire Congress of people like her.
Think of that commercial by T-Mobil. Firemen running a city, asking logical questions, answering them, ending with “this is the easiest job in the world.”

A Congress of Sarah Palin’s would the same thing and crumble the power base in this country.

We are not watching Fox except for Fox & Friends, Neil, Hannity, and Greta when she is on good topics. Then when Glenn Beck gets on we will add his show. Other than that, no more FOX except if we know a conservative will be on. We do not go to the other networks at all. :)

I do not think I can ever support the Republican party again with what they are doing to Sarah.

There appears to be NO honor in those running the campaign. McCain should immediately com out and defend her honor. I will lose what respect I had for him if does not do so.

This is a travesty.

Why can’t we have both? Why can’t we win elections AND stand for what we believe in? Jindal is the right person who can do BOTH.

You tell me why Jindal’s not right for this center-right nation. He’s young, fresh, competent, can communicate effectively, a total conservative. A child of immigrants who’s Catholic (he can get those rustbelt voters in OH and PA), extremely smart so the biased MSM can’t hit him below the belt on his intellect, a great executive who’s already proven to be competent in office, and can match Obama in any debate.

I went to a rally in Cape Girardeau, Mo. with my two sons. We waited in line for nearly three hours only to be turned away twenty yards from the door. The venue held 6000. I bet there were twice that turned away. You're right. There was something electric, even standing in line!

Four years is a long time. Too early to count her in or out. Who knows what it will look like on the ground in 2012?

Maybe a Palin/Jindal ticket? Sarah is the new Ronald Reagan in my book. She is folksy & connects with ordinary Americans. She walks the talk when it comes to real conservatism.

I am old enough to remember the things they said about Reagan - what was the movie he did with the monkey? “Bedtime for Bonzo”? I heard that over & over, like they said “Chimpy” for Bush. They tried to make it look like Reagan was stupid too & “was going to start World War Three”.

Palin’s a great communicator, with a little more experience - yeah - I think you could be looking at another Ronald Reagan. That’s why you’re hearing this $hit now about her - they’ve got to destroy her ASAP.
