Vanity: Fox News Says Palin Did Not Know Africa Was Continent, Not Country

Carl Cameron just said McCain campaign shocked to discover Sarah Palin did not realize Africa was a continent, believing instead that it was a country. She did not know the countries in NAFTA. She refused offered preparation for the Couric interview and threw temper tantrums over adverse press.

Wow. Dumping on Sarah in a big way. Shep asked how on Earth the McCain camp could have ended up picking such a dope (not exact words, but sense of what he said).

They did point out she seemed to help the polling numbers.

I knew this was going to be the template, but I was surprised at the level of nastiness on Fox News. Looks like elements of the McCain campaign is determined to make her the scapegoat for the loss. (Couldn't have been anything about the man at the top of the ticket.)

“Moderates and Independents don’t like Palin”

Screw moderate and Indies...that is how you run a loser campaign like the last one...when given a choice they will pick the liberal dressed as a moderate.

Real effective Party’s pick Conservatives and round it out with a more centrist VP...not the opposite.

After 4 years of Obamamania, American will crave a conservative.

“We need a candidate in 2012 who can easily match Obama’s intellect.”

There have been IQ/advertising tests run recently that say Obama’s IQ is 149, and Palin’s is 129. Anyone know if these figures are true?

So what, Obama thinks there are 57 states, and it didn’t hurt him.

With all of the Murders, Strife, Terrorism in Africa! There are certainly worse and more descriptive things one can call
Africa rather than “a Country!” I find Country a rather flattering term all things considered!!!

You are wrong.

Sarah Palin had to do the equivalent of walking a tightrope in high heels and a skirt with lions and tigers leaping at her and the press videotaping her if she wobbled, while 0bama was propelled along in a Hover-round with the press scattering rose petals before him over a red carpet, filming him with halo effects lenses, whispering sweet nothings in his ear and answering his questions for him (”My Christian Faith”).

“Absolutely agree. I find this highly plausible, considering her performances in the interviews and debate.

She demonstrated a very coloquial knowledge of world affairs. She restricted her answers on foreign policy to energy policy and her ability to “see Russia” from Alaska.

She was not vetted sufficiently. The choice was way too rushed.”

According to the Palinbots, demanding a candidate be knowledgable is “elitist”.

Rumors have sprung up that they are Romney backers (which would seem thematic, considering their smear campaign against Mike Huckabee and John McCain). Is there verification?

Actually I'm beginning to wonder if it is Romney people after all. It might just be McCain people. It might be a cover your behind maneuver. Someone on Commentary Magazine's blog last week posting a comment about Nicolle Wallace's interview with the Daily Beast. It was as if Wallace was already positioning herself to be rehired at CBS when the campaign is over. I believe setting up the Couric interview was her doing. In the interview, Wallace said only nice things about the Palins. So I wouldn't want to pin the blame on her unfairly.

Temper tantrum was the identical description used to throw stalwart conservative Katherine Harris under the bus in 2006. The similarities are striking, and I have the memory of an elephant.

And what was up with Fox’s election coverage?

Sloppy. Goofy. Forced informality and fun.

“...was not impressed with her saying living adjacent to Russia was somehow foreign policy experience.”

We lived in Alaska in the ‘70s & ‘80s when my ex was stationed at Elmendorf AFB. There were many times when strange stuff was happening in airspace there having to do with USSR, emergency call-outs, etc. They were incidents the Airmen couldn’t discuss, but it was close and it was terrifying. She probably has more hands-on foreign policy experience than Biden, and she definitely has more than Hussein.

Fox also called FR a hate site

No, they didn't. Bill O'Reilly did. Ever heard of him?

He was right, to a degree.

Another example of a great graphic, ruined by misspelling.

It's fixed easily enough.
