When you lose an election like we just did, it brings out the best those family, friends, and acquaintences of yours who don't share your political beliefs.
In 2004, I tried my best not to gloat at all because I understood that for many of our opponents, politics is their religion and to watch Kerry lose, it was like watching a family member die. I get no pleasure in being a jackass and trying to rub salt into people's wounds.
Liberals generally have no such reservations, so I'm sure we've all gotten an earful today.
So let's start a thread for posting some of the dumbest things people have said to us today at the advent of Obamanation. It might be the kind of thing we can look back on in 2010 or 2012 and say, "Oh yeah, I forgot what that little snot said."
“At least we will be getting FREE healthcare now.”
Ha ha. They’re gonna have to find out the truth the hard way.
Actually, these are kind of funny. We should put together a little book and hand it out in four years!
“...And the worst, “McCain blew it when he picked Palin”. (I’ll punch any conservative in the mouth who says it in front of me; I expect it from the stupid libs)”
One of my co workers was singing Palin’s praises. She turned on her on a dime. My co worker said that she voted for Obama because Sarah Palin wasn’t good enough. Meanwhile she claimed she was a McCain supporter. She is Jamaican-American. I guess skin color trumps experience.
I’ve heard nothing today, but I did get an “Obama” yell on the way home from the polls yesterday.
“Our country will never be the same.”
“He’ll bring the country together and we’ll be back in favor with the rest of the world.”
err..change one to won. Little brain muddled today.
I called 911 reporting this crime also complaining about the noise.
I got a giggle with a "thanks for the call, we'll look into it" comment.
Yea..Michael Moore won’t be eligible for healthare cause he’s too fat.
“Obama isn’t pro-choice!” - Dipshit Co-worker
Think I need to find a new job before January 20.
He said, "I was pretty happy last night, though I voted for Nader... Well, I really wanted Obama to win over McCain, but I didn't vote for him because New Jersey always goes Republican anyway..."
Genius abounds.
I volunteer at my kids high school - a guidance counselor said she had to vote for BO so she could be part of a historic event - then she said - “I have no idea what’s coming next”!
One of my co-workers brought up Sarah Palin and how unqualified she was to be vice-president.
I shot back, asking her how Palin, who is Governor of a U.S. state and has a long history of government service, is unqualified to be vice-president while Obama, who was only a state senator for about a year, was qualified to be president of the united states?
I just loved the blank stare I got back in return!
Facebook updates are a gold mine:
“...is drunk on hope.”
“...can sleep soundly tonight.”
“...is still celebrating!”
“...is content.”
“...voted for change.”
Not from anyone I know, but I was appalled at the bile being spewed against Sarah Palin today on a certain left-wing blog after the Newsweek “revelations” about her. So much for them being willing to work together with the opposition. They still want to squash it like a bug.
They are mean in defeat and meaner in victory. I’ve never seen such evil behavior in all my days.
Sounds familiar. Black guy at work was wrestling with his decision to vote, or not vote for Obama a week or so ago. He said Obama’s abortion stance goes against “his beliefs.”
Then he said, Obama is “really, really smart and has good ideas.” Like “change”, I guess. Then he said he was previously for Hillary, who is also “really, really smart. Much smarter than Sarah Palin.” I really could not afford to talk to him after that and just muttered “um, oh...okay.” To have kept discussing would have meant some bad words would have come hurling out of my mouth and I’d have probably been fired.
I didn’t bother to read the gloating I knew would come from one commie friend. I am thinking the bright side is he will soon learn his failures are the result of his own laziness and self imposed limitations. Not who is in charge of the country. (same guy thought Clinton just being elected in ‘92 is why the economy started to turn for the better at the end of that year). Then, I will say, “I told you so.”
