Okay, folks. Let's keep an eye on this debate and see if Sarah can beat down hairplug.
SOUNDS VERY ENCOURAGING.
I’m just still quite skeptical that we are near ready for Nov 4th though I’m a layman and y’all are absolutely top flight.
I don’t think there’s any precedent for what will happen then.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we have 5 million (or more) unique folks trying to get on that week.
IF THIS FREEPATHON needs more for hardware, please, PLEASE don’t be bashful or shy. Some of us can’t do more but many can—if they know of the need.
And as I see it, this super critical election is a super need. Just my 2 cents, though.
Y’all make lots of wonderful and hard decisions quite masterfully. So you are welcome to consider this noise.
I just care, however.
Men don’t cry on TV it is unbecoming. Man Up Biden... Enough of this liberal Milquetoast. People died on 911 too what will Joe Biden tell American Mothers when their children are dead in the school yards of America because Obama makes some idiotic changes that allow terroist to bring their war to Main Street USA....
I hate Liberals.
Oh yes, I agree. She did contact that’s why we all love her....she is one of us. Plugs was boring...he bored the hell out of people. I believe people couldn’t wait till it came back to Sarah.
She handled that question very well - she also defused the claim that she was a bigot.
She admitted to having a diverse group of friends.
I agree. McCain is her anchor...not her beliefs. I bet she hated not going after this blue-blood New England punk.
nah, he’s a bloviator. Gwen was very fair.
Point well taken. I am just looking at it as a parent who has lost a child. I know he feels the loss.
Yep, she will be so much better when she won't have to defend McCain.
I thought Biden did his job of attacking McCain and tying him to Bush. Palin couldn't defend that.
CNN has her speaking live now. LOUD CROWD!
You know, at first I felt the same way...but then I got to thinkin'....
People that want McCain/Palin to rip the hearts out of the Dems on these type issues are already going to vote for McCain/Palin regardless...what Sarah was trying to do is reach out to those voters that are in the middle....and they probably aren't going to respond well to 'attack' style tactics.
What I'm starting to understand is the in the political sense, I am quite naive.
Some Democrat cheerleader goober (I forget his name) is on now saying that Palin was like a pit bull, grabbed Biden's leg and held on. Attack, attack, attack. She was so mean to Biden and Obama. LOL!
It's a win for Palin.
I need to clarify one thing, I don’t view these people as “simpletons”. Lacking in civil matters that is important in forming a solid reason for voting what they will? Yes, but not simpletons.
Going back through the pings I missed...
There certainly WERE/ARE predatory lenders out there, and while that may not be the MAIN cause of the problems leading to this crisis, it IS this predatory and unethical lenders, and mortgage brokers that led to my family losing OUR home. Look at the mortgage brokers in particular who HAVE been criminally charged over the last 5 or so years in particular.
And then - WITHOUT proper oversight either at the federal OR the state levels - these same criminals paid measly fines, and were then allowed to RE-OPEN for business under new names, and started the cycle all over again!
I saw it happen in Colorado, and my family suffered personally for it. And, I know there were at least 500 other families who suffered from just the ONE broker we had worked with (this according to the FBI filings during the criminal trial).
In regards to oversight... If it was the case that there was PLENTY of oversight, then please explain how this came about. No-one is saying that regulations in place did not contribute to this mess. HOWEVER, even CLINTON agrees that he pushed for oversight and was blocked by his OWN PARTY who have insisted for YEARS that there was NOTHING WRONG with Fannie and Freddie in particular! McCain pushed for De-Regulation and more Oversight as well but his bills were blocked IN COMMITTEE and couldn’t get past the corrupt politicians who were covering up for their “friends” like Frank, and Dodd in the House.
As I said, the only possible mistake made was that Sarah perhaps could’ve taken the opportunity to educate the public on the difference between REGULATION, and OVERSIGHT. But, if anything that is the fault of MANY Republicans who for YEARS now have FAILED to educate people on what exactly “de-regulation” MEANS in practice!
I still don’t understand how you can possibly characterize her statements as being a “me-too liberal Republican” line. She was not calling for government to SAVE homeowners, nor was she blaming “the rich” for the criminal practices of some of these financial institutions.
[You know... come to think of it, one could also make an argument that as things stand now these financial institutions are CONTINUING their predatory practices by bascially STEALING our tax dollars and making us pay for their greed, mismanagement, negligence, and criminal behavior as well.]
CNN broadcasting Palin live post debate in St. Louis.
Totally agree with that assessment. The average american will hopefully pick up on that.
LOL, well listening to Frank Luntz who said to watch the polls within the next 48 hours I'd say take all with a grain.
I felt she connected with the people although listening to Major Garrett the Obama campaign said she connected with males but not women, which is bunk. Biden hammered and hammered and was always attacking McCain, whereas she smiled and was gracious and charming. Got to a point where I wish McCain was there to correct the record as Sarah couldn't possibly answer all that was flung her way.
Krauthammer thought she was charming, connected and should have fought back on the FM/FM legislation McCain tried to get passed in 2006 but the dems blocked it. That monumental fact is lost on voters and it was McCain who should have brought it home during his debate with Obama.
Sorry, won’t be much.
I really rarely do windows or sports.
Dear Lord, could you give gordo a hug in whatever way would most fit his needs and your priorities for him.
Amen.

“In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration”
I think something happened to him back then
Like minds I was wondering that myself.
