YOU are wrong, NO ONE thought she had to knock it out of the park, all she had to do was make no mistakes, she was great even Kirsten Powers and Mort Kondracke thought so and they are usually very biased. She won because she connects with the average American, that is what you and some others here are missing.

Sarah is a bit jumpy like a rabbit and maybe talking too fast, where Biden is looking relaxed and answering slowly.

I wish she could be not constrained by the McCain line, but I guess she’s got no choice.

I agree. I also wish she wasn't constrained by the McCain line. She has made a mockery of the whole "maverick" thing. When you use it as much as she did tonight, it's sounds like you don't believe it or you think others don't believe it, and the undecideds and moderates will pick up on that - those are the people she needed to win over.

Not only that, but using the maverick stuff so much, she set herself (and McCain) up to be shot down by Biden over that and she's given the media soundbites which will be used to mock her and McCain.

I half expect a Tina Fey skit Saturday night where it's just her saying "Maverick" over and over.

Like another FReeper said, if you have to keep calling yourself a maverick, or you have to have to your VP candidate call you a maverick a lot, then you probably aren't a maverick. If you are, people know it.

This is my first post on here as it has been running so slow and I think she is doing fantastic. Have to question what debate they are watching if they saw otherwise.

Seriously? I thought she was extremely unimpressive. But I have to say - it's encouraging to see posts like yours because it means there are probably a lot of people out there who see it like you do. I thought Bush lost his debates too, badly, and then was pleasantly surprised when people thought he did well. Maybe that'll be the case here too.

The second half of the debate was better for her, as she was more relaxed. I’m glad that there were no mistakes.

She is much more photogenic than Biden, who looked like something from a wax museum.
