The Constitution states that all spending bills must originate in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This is the last place I thought someone would have to post that.

Please see:

BARACK OBAMA AND THE STRATEGY OF MANUFACTURED CRISIS
by James Simpson, former White House economist
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/barack_obama_and_the_strategy.html

If this is true, the aim of an Obama presidency is to add so much spending, debt, and tax to America’s federal budget that our government is brought down. All this, while generating and inflaming bitterness in the “lower classes,” (including more and more illegal immigrants) — all in order to generate the new order of socialist control.

Please note that in Friday’s debate, Obama refused to name any cuts in his social programs, to pay for the proposed and highly mistaken financial bailout. (Please publsh information about the $35B of insurance proposal, instead.) If America commits $700B to this, what is available for the next crisis?

Please see the links in the article, for documentation.

u

PS: Now I understand why the flag is upside down in the fuller picture of Obama’s logo.

WHERE IS MCCAIN

He is trying to give the democrats a reach aro...

He is trying to be the "Great-Healer-Reaching-Across-The-Asile."

He missed his chance to win the debate and the election when he did not clearly state his opposition to any plan that gives taxpayer money to bailout Wall Street but that he does support discussion of alternate plans to resolve the crisis in other ways.

He has been blaming this on Wall Street greed all along without mentioning the crooks in the Senate and House but has failed to follow up by taking a firm stand against Wall Street fat-cats when he had the chance with the very first debate question.

I wonder now if he really wants to win the election.
Two thirds or more of the voters oppose a bailout with taxpayer money.

By not taking a stand he misses a chance to demonstrate he is a decisive leader who places the interest of taxpayers before the bank balances of fat-cats in the congress and on Wall Street.
He and Barry are both running away from the issue.

That is Obama's style. He never votes for or against anything, so he can maintain plausible deniability.

Yet when something is working,he will claim the credit without lifting a finger.

Your post says it all for moi!

ExACTLY WHAT WE NEED IS A LIGHT SHINED ON THIS WHOLE MESS!

If we go FAST ENOUGH, than very bad people escape the responsibility they have for this financial mess.

We will survive a meltdown.

We will.

But we will never survive the socialism that comes with such an intrusion into the marketplace by government.

When a BUSINESS fails.....it FAILS!

Period.

When congress people FAIL to perform oversight on two HUGE government designed projects like FANNIE MAE and FREDDIE MAC...and they FAIL and start this domino effect...then the CONGRESS people RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERSIGHT need to be NAMED and IMPEACHED. PERIOD. Their retirements taken and their lights turned off.

You will go crazy if you pay any attention to the polls. They are all over the place. The media, FoxNews included is making an all out push for Obama these last few weeks. Ignore the polls, work to help get McCain/Palin elected and go vote November 5th. Thats all we can do. I just have a feeling that the media is going to be very surprised on election night and will be wondering what went wrong with their polling data. They skew the polls and push Obama so much that they begin to believe their own propaganda.

"Why is this money not restricted to buying actual mortgages?"

Because it's those paper assets that threaten to vapor-lock the credit-derivatives market. That's a $62 trillion pyramid.

How much would pay for a housing project where the facilities are crap and you can be sued, where tenants refuse to pay and refuse to leave, where you are in physical danger, and where the press and opposition party are determined to represent you as the bad guy? I wouldn't pay anything. You couldn't pay me enough to take on that property.

This has become so abstract that I have no clue as how the government, or anyone else, should value these assets. In ignorance, I am very tempted to say “let the house of cards fall.” We have a profit and loss system. Perhaps now it's time for the losses. Great depression? Just another scare of the day, along with global warming-cooling, nuclear meltdowns, oil spills, hurricanes, tyranny through the Patriot Act, etc.

Yes.

It seems there is a rush to "close doors," so the voters cannot glimpse the ugliness of the "un-affordable housing" scandal.

I read the link. Mike Pence says he will still vote NO! There are improvements to the bill but it doesn't change the fact it the largest corporate welfare boondoggle in American history. When you put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig. Paulson will still get his bailout money.

“We are in dangerous territory folks. The “Market” by now has learned that they can get our political Elite to do anything they want if they scream loudly enough. This does not bode well for the future. We have become so fixated on the economy and obsessed with prevening a recession that we are willing to spend hundreds of billions of dollars. And we are giving it to the same set of genuiuses who have pissed away our fortune and outsourced our manufacturing capability over the last 25+ years. These “Masters of the Universe” need to be flushed and replaced with an untainted set of leaders.”

EXCELLENT point, exactly right; and/but you’ve left out the part about completely throwing over the Constitution, the explicit ratification of all-encompassing socialism, and creating a de facto fourth branch of the government in the form of the Treasury dept with unlimited, non-reviewable power.

McCain can help himself a lot if he starts calling for heads to roll. I think that’s what people are most angry about.

I do not understand why McCain is being so quiet about the bail out. He can and should be using this to his advantage. If he is elected president, he’s sure as heck gonna have to live with it.

I’m wondering if McCain has a troubling connection to the subprime and/or Wall Street shananagans. Thoughts anybody?

I hope so. Every day this goes on McCain drops in the polls.

Something isn't adding up.

I'm told that the majority of the people in the country are against the bail-out, yet I'm also told that it's McCain who keeps dropping in the polls because the bill isn't being passed?

Give gives?

>>>Where is McCain? Probably taking a call from the National Council of LaRaza.

It was McC who went to Washington and forced the dimRAts of the Senate to include the House Republicans in the process. They had shut them out. And now those House Republicans have thrown a monkey wrench into the Socialist takeover...

Just because he isn't out on the stump blowing his horn doesn't mean he isn't/hasn't been very influential in keeping this bailout ala the dimRats from being shoved down our throats.

How about we keep to the subject instead of trying to misdirect the thread?
