John McCain announced that he will suspend his presidential campaign on Thursday to return to Washington to help with bailout negotiations. He urged his opponent Barack Obama to do the same.

The Arizona senator also asked the Presidential Debate Commission to postpone Friday’s scheduled debate with Obama so that he can work on the financial crisis bailout plan now on Capitol Hill.

“America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen,” McCain said.

This is how the OODA loop works, folks. McCain is letting the enemy destroy himself. What you just saw was a man uncertain of what to do in a crisis. It recalls Hillary's now famous 3 AM phone call commercial. Obama says "call me." I don't think even the MSM can spin that one for him. That is the act of a follower, of a Senator - not of a President!

Reading some of these posts I guess it's all over! I guess it is ok for folks like me who always pays my bills, always on time just to stop paying because we are heading for a crash anyway. Also, I should not support a man who wants to roll up his sleeves and try to get a solution, but rather concede to a socialist scumbag.

were doomed........................

Just watched Obomba. He sounded a whole lot better then McCain did today, and he made a lot of sense. We vote in 40 days. Unless we delay the election, the campaign needs to go on.

Go way troll.

What I like about this move is that the action is shifting to DC. I heard that McCain is going to some Clinton thing tomorrow, what are the odds that Clinton shows up in DC for “moral” support. That would mean that the adults are in Washington taking care of business, while Barry is running around like a headless chicken.

My first reaction was, way to go McCain and what a wuss 0bama. Now, what are the odds that this is a universal reaction. And McCain has enough experience to show that he can do more than two things at once, while 0bama is showing that he can only do one, debate. The McCain camp can now hit 0bama on the fact that he didn’t want to do town halls.

Meanwhile we’ll have Sarah out there hitting 0bama for not doing his job. Priceless. Tell if that won’t anger the average American?

This was a huge mistake for him. He should fire the guy who came up with this lame gimmic.

What a total unmitigated, unimaginable disaster this dunce would be as President. I have been thinking Jimmy Carter-bad, but Obama would be Carter times a hundred.

McCain said that he would have voted for Bush’s tax cuts IF they had contained SPENDING CUTS! Sounds like a Reagan thing to me.

How so? Since when does postponing it until after Monday translate into “backing out of the debate?” Who has a better sense of priorities?

"It makes it appear as though McCain is trying to back out of the debate."

It proves that Country First means Country First and anyone who does get that was going to vote for Obama if they were going to bother to vote at all.

Nancy Pfotenhauer, McCain’s Senior Policy Advisor said that Obama called this morning, but never advised them of the topic he wanted to discuss...just that he wanted to talk to McCain.

the fake one said nothing! The only time we got any answers is when the press actually asked him questions and he had no choice!

Pat Buchanan jsut told Hannity that he thought this was a brilliant, decision, that it puts McCain back into the center of the action.

Pat understands.

very odd, his dismissive attitude points him out as a back bencher who has never really been in the fight, very strange, He gave the impression that he has nothing to offer by way of a solution. Barry’s first chance to really throttle an issue and he comes off as feckless and more than one remove away from the situation. Call me if you need me indeed, “Hey Barry, pick up a six of Bud Lite would ya?” “OK see ya later, need anything else”.

This is classic McCain.
