A week after a high-profile send-up of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," the NBC comedy show returned to making fun of the Alaskan governor in a skit where New York Times reporters sought to probe the possibility Palin's husband was having sex with the couple's own daughters.
"What about the husband?" asked a Times reporter during a mock assignment meeting for the paper. "You know he's doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It's Alaska."
The assignment editor for the Times, portrayed by actor James Franco, responded: "He very well could be. Admittedly, there is no evidence of that, but on the other hand, there is no convincing evidence to the contrary. And these are just some of the lingering questions about Governor Palin."
The skit featured a photo of one reporter and an on-screen message that stated, "In 2009 [reporter] Howland Gwathmey Moss, V was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his Times series on unproven, yet un-disproven incest in the Palin family. Sadly, he was to die 3 months later, run over by a snow machine, driven by a polar bear."
The final shot showed an image of a New York Times page, with headlines that included:
"While No Direct Evidence of Incest in Palin Family Emerges, Counter Evidence Remains Agonizingly Elusive" and "In a Small Alaska Town, Doubts Still Linger."

Yes, yes, yes!!! You ‘get it too.’ This was a perfect slam of the NYSlimes (and the effete, elite of the NY media). I almost thought somebody lurked ‘here’ with some of the lines they used...
Exceptionally poor taste by SNL. But I, too, got the feeling they were slamming leftist blogs and the NYT.
I wasn’t watching it. All things being fair, I expect to see a skit next week showing Obama having sex with his daughters....
What ? They wouldn’t do that ?
Sounds like the “skit” was written by Franken (or Senator Webb).
And for those of you posting from, as Rush would say, Rio Linda...that is just more sarcasm and ironic humor.
I didn’t watch it either, last week I did, totally unfunny.
bumpers !!!
I laughed and I bet Sarah did too.
Obama, WHO is Bill Ayers and WHY are you still friends with him?
Yeah, yeah, yeah ... I know. When he** freezes over.
I don't remember much of the ad, but the kicker was a black woman's voice saying, "...but what if you find out the other woman...is your 9-year-old *daughter* ?"
Apparently incest really happens, and not just rednecks.
(Woody Allen doesn't count because of the age of the parties involved.)
NO Cheers, unfortunately.
I watched maybe 20 seconds of Tina Fey doing “dumb Sarah” and I left the room. I’ve had about enough of that garbage to last a lifetime. When they start doing skits about Smugs and Plugs that are a fraction as vicious (nevermind honest), let me know.
I think this skit was devastating — to the NY Times. Did anyone actually read the transcript? Or was it like that Far Side cartoon with the dog, and all you heard was:
“blah blah blah, Palin blah blah incest, blah blah”
We do have some humorless people on our side don’t we?
The worst thing is that first skit was the actually the best.
This is a smack at the entire state. Yikes.
I'd say it's more of a smack at reporters who could say something that vile about an entire state.
I saw that skit. The joke was revolting, but the skit was actually making fun of the New York Times and the press corps. The joke was pointing out that the press was doing everything in its power to find something, anything, to get Sarah Palin.
Note to self:
Maybe I can send SNL/PMSNBC a message asking them that!
Not on your side.
Here’s the video clip of SNL’s Roast of the NY Times & Reporters re Sarah Palin

Al Franken helped with the first skit on the show, not the one concerning the NY Times. At least that’s the way I understand it.
