Vanity: How Did they KNOW the email address?

It seems to be coming clear that the Obama campaign is involved in illegally accessing Sarah Palin's email (at least based on reports that "Rubico" may be one of Obama's Tennessee state chairs)
QUESTION 1: how did they know, FOR SURE, that "gov.palin@yahoo.com" was Sarah Palin's Yahoo account?
It's logical of course, but how did this Rubico know that for sure?.
I mean, her email address could have been many things, such as "spalin", "sarahpalin", "governorpalin", "govpalin" or you get the point.
How is it that they knew it was exactly "gov" "dot" "palin"?
As all of the windbag leftists have been pointing out, this email address was not public record. So, where did they find this?
QUESTION 2: so what is it that the platoon of lawyers that Obama has dispatched to Alaksa are doing again?
Possible Scenario? > Obama's lawyers "research" in Alaska > Find out exact private email account (like maybe from some local source who happened to know it) > They give to Obama operatives (Obama's TN state chair) > Obama's operatives illegally access Governor Palin's personal email account
Seems perfectly plausible.
The key is knowing that "gov" "dot" "palin" was her email precise email address.

I got my yahoo password hacked and changed last year. It took two weeks of emails and phone calls to authenticate myself to them, and to enable me to restore my usage.
Something doesn’t smell right here at all.

Already disclosed documents have her using her Yahoo account.
People have been requesting her E-mails for a while now.
10 Sep 2008. Washington Post
"From the case law, if government voluntarily opens up that internal decision-making to what I would call civilians, then that is waiver of that protection of the government policy decision-making process. That is what happened here, and it happened because Sarah Palin doesn't understand it," he said.
Todd Palin was frequently copied on e-mails relating to Alaska State Troopers and the union representing public safety employees, according to McLeod, who received four boxes of redacted e-mails in response to her request.
At the time, both Sarah and Todd Palin were complaining to the state public safety commissioner about a disciplinary matter involving her ex-brother-in-law, a state trooper.
Palin also routinely does government business from a Yahoo address,
gov.sarah@yahoo.com, rather than from her secure official state e-mail address, according to documents already made public.
"Whoops!" Palin aide Frank Bailey wrote, after addressing an e-mail to the governor's official state address.
"Frank, This is not the Governor's personal account," a secretary reminded him.
Calls seeking response from the governor were not immediately returned.
Palin last month described McLeod as a disgruntled former employee, although in 2004 Palin endorsed her as a state House candidate "not afraid to stand up for what's right."
Mitchell's appeal, addressed to Palin in her capacity as the decision-maker on the earlier records request, questions the wisdom of the governor and her aides in shipping messages about state business between their public and private e-mail accounts "with complete and total abandon."
"There's a reason the governor should be using her own official e-mail channels, because of security and encryption," the lawyer said.
"She's running state business out of Yahoo?"

Well, that’s a good technical explanation.
Would running that script be consider “hacking” or “cracking”?

I’m not sure that is right. I thought Yahoo email was exclusively Web, and didn’t offer an SMTP interface.

What I don’t understand is why the Secret Service/FBI/men in black didn’t have that email and all others she and her family might have used under strict security.

The Washington Post did a hit piece of Palin a few days ago trying to link her to dastardly deeds of doing gov't work on personal email accounts. They published the email address (only link to story is in LA Times Blog which byline is Washington Post)

Yes, I read the post.
It’s not the same question. That story talks about doing the password reset.
I was asking how they knew the precise address.
I wasn’t aware of the Washington Post piece that published her email address.

I would not run a script like that on a server that I wasn't responsible for. I would consider it unlawful. But it happens all the time.

Shoot, at this juncture the Russians or the Iranians (or both) might be using their own spy networks to feed information to Democrat nutcases looking to bring down the McCain candidacy. They’ve both got plenty to lose if he wins.

It was suggested that the group Anonymous was involved in this hacking. IF that is true they are group that is desiring to change/ attack groups or individuals that they see as a threat to thier world view. They are apposed to scientology and have made a direct threat against them:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=84TE5Uh4Z4E
They are supposed to be a non-partisan group but if the group has a social agenda (anti-Scientology is an aspect) then a short jump to political ideology in support of that ideology is not a stretch. If they saw that the republican veep nominee was a threat they would do the same to her as it is believed they did to Scientology computers. There is some debate on the hacking circuit what really happened and who did the initial hack but the effect is the same her private information is splattered across the Internet. the final outcome is still to be determined.
