Despite her meteoric rise and popularity, could Sarah Palin's fate be equated to "Death by a thousand cuts"? In other words, could the constant daily barrage of of negative stories in the media and attacks by the Obama campaign induce, by their sheer volume and repetition, Palin fatigue? Is this possibly the strategy of the media: to cause those who might consider voting for her to decide it is just too much baggage? It may not matter that people believe the stories about Gov Palin or true or false, but simply that there is so much negative noise in the system that people grow weary of such a controversial figure and not want to endure what comes with it for the next four years.
Good news is that the Left tends to get so hysterical and pompous that majority would take them seriously enough to be depressed about the onslaught.
You are seeing history repeating itself...
Its more like an immunization. Even if they actually find something after this blitz, their credibility will be zero. Unlike Bambination, who’s popularity is up only when he is unavailable for comment;she has substance and people don’t cringe when they see or hear her.
Sorry guys...not meaning to be a wet blanket....but the MSM is really pissing me off, but feel powerless to do something about it. Why can’t the McCain campaign call the media out?
I hope now the John McCain realizes that if you lie down with dogs you wake up with fleas. The media was never his friend and love him only as long as he was bashing Republicans.
Hopefully this will awake the warrior in him and they come at the press with both barrels blazing!
I would also like to opine that I think that a lot of the media backlash (that will continue, BTW) is due to the fact that Sarah isn't going to "stand up for the little guy", she is the little guy. And America knows it in their heart and in their gut in a way that even (dare I say it) Ronald Reagan wasn't able to resonate.
I am as skeptical as the next guy about how long this swoon will last, mostly because I am steeling myself for disappointment. But the more days go by, the more I start to believe.
It may turn out that "The One" wasn't a community organizer from Chicago, but a PTA Hockey Mom that got fed up with her school board. Such is the stuff that legends are writ.
some mud WILL stick,,,,
and the mud that does stick,,,
is VERY, VERY, VERY HARD TO REMOVE!!
That’s the way they created an epidemic of BDS. It’s up to us if we’re going to let them do it to Palin or not.
Sarah Palin will be their complete undoing...in fact she already is.
Every attack on Sarah makes my friends and myself more angry and more determined to get her elected. Their gutter tactics won’t work. If we give in to these domestic terrorists, we’re doomed. Our troops are fighting to protect and defend this country against terrorists overseas. The least we can do is protect it from the likes of Liberals who seek to destroy our country and our freedom from within. Anyone around FR that feels like throwing in the towel, shouldn’t be among the rest of us.
Some times I feel discouraged,
And think my works in vain,
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again.

My sister, God love her, is a unrepentant liberal. She’s a retired government school teacher and apparently the long-time union indoctrination finally overcame her conservative raising. She’s 73 and reliably votes Democrat.
But even she is appalled at the hysterical attacks on Sarah Palin by the Drive-By Media. If she sees it, we can be sure anyone who’s on the fence will notice it also.
A note to any mainstream media types who read FR: I think Alvin Poon is right. Not only that, but you may be just one negative story away from critical mass. Get moving on the story that Sarah cheated in the beauty contest, and you’ll lock up the election for the One. Good luck!
Re “Balm in Gilead”. A great hymn/spiritual!
Cheers!
Actually it is good because it has energized the base and any legit issues will be seen as BS now
I think you are correct. I’ve heard of several elderly (older than me) hardcore Democrat women who just can’t take Obama. They just plain don’t like him.
No I don’t think so. I have followed elections since Nixon/McGovern when I was too young to vote. I have never seen anything like her. Her grace, humor, beauty, courage, and obvious faith in our Lord are combined with a quality that I can’t quite wrap my mind around. She is electric. When you see her, you have to smile as a conservative or go batshite crazy if you are liberal.
Puma’s adore her and stand ready to defend after the pounding Hillary took from the DNC. Older guys like my dad are by her side too. I think every time Obama attacks her, he might as well say “motherhood and apple pie suck” because that is what “the quiet majority” take away from the attacks. In short, Americans do not take kindly to bullying a lady who is behaving like a lady.
