I don’t mean to be grumpy but this bipartisan business gives me a rash.Well you might try to get over it. The Republicans in Congress spent many elections cycles screwing the pooch and are in a minority as a consequence. Either McCain will have to reach across the aisle, or Obama won't have to. There are not a lot of other choices.

The McCain boys and Palin’s son are active duty military. Just curious, is there a reason why they aren't wearing their uniforms? That would have been an awesome touch.

The problem with that is if he does that he will turn off all the mushy-middle voters, and he needs them to win.Over the weekend that Frank Lutz(?)pollster dude had an "undecided voters" forum in St. Paul, MN.....after listening to an hour of that I came to the same conclusion of Phil Graham, we are becoming a nation of whiners.

I think that this was precisely the speech he needed to make: stressing a return to fiscal discipline, firmly drawing a line between himself and the least-loved aspects of the GOP lately (e.g. increased govt spending and size), and taking aim at the narcissism-driven politics that's reached comical levels within the Snob's campaign.

Not through and through. It built up as it went along.
But exhortations the stand up at the end were very powerful.
Like a musical piece that teases at the beginning but builds to a climactic crescendo.
But with Mrs. Palin on the ticket, it's a heavy-hitting line-up for sure.
