Too bad I can't believe it coming out of McCain. I'm sorry, but I don't think he understands the basics of conservatism. I love Governor Palin, but I'm having a hard time buying this guy. I don't care what he's saying now you can't take back the last 8+ years. He supported the surge, and that's about the only thing he's done that I agree with. I will not forget McCain-Feingold, and if he wants my vote, he is going to have to account for that. Listening to this speech, it just sounds like he still thinks the government is the answer to a lot of problems.
Still, I think I might have to vote for him anyway, just because the two most important problems in the coming four years are energy and foreign conflicts, and I trust him on those issues. There is a major economic depression on the horizon, it's just a matter of time, and McCain would be a lot like Hoover in that situation. I can accept that since Obama would be much closer to Hitler.

I agree. He seems to have picked it up a bit and is doing better. He was getting a bit bogged down in the middle of this thing.
To: Moonlighter
It's a good speech but McCain's best format will be the debates.
To: mylife
Yup.
I really do like his thinking on education. It is an excellent placemark for another of the clear differences between the Junior Senator and McCain.

Great oratory is neither needed or expected here. He’s the leadership guy, Obama is the empty speechifier.

Great speech except for the moonbat global warming garbage. But that’s McCain. On certain issues he’s lost. Doesn’t matter. On many issues like education, life, military, taxes, foreign aid he’s kicking butt.
To: Red Steel
Yep, he’s hitting his stride now.

Greta wire .... after the convention ... midnight, I think.

Not sure really if it’s online or on TV .. do you know, Fawnn?

Agreed. He’s talking to the same people Joe L talked to. I think he sewed up the base with Sarah. Now to tie up the middle people.
