Strong ending... I liked the way he kept talking over the applause ... plowing on that way.

Solid is right. Like I said before, I will sleep soundly with Mac in the White House.

I learned there are four styles of Greek columns; Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, and Styrofoam.

LOL!

“We don’t want liberal pessism around here, we are better than that. We aren’t looking for someone to say “I’m from the government and I’m here to help”, we are voting for a Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces, and I’ll be damned if I let someone like oBambi get it. (and even if he does, America will survive”

Amen..but...
I think Obambi would be hard to recover from..

I was wondering if that would break this song out!

That Tells me the Wilson girls are in our camp.

I grew up with their cousin

I must have missed that, Stephanoplous has been a pretty good commentator IMO for ABC. Fair I think, last night he praised Palin for example.

“The number of “Viva Reagan” signs in the Texas and California Delegations from 76-84 was tremendous. One of them also had an often repeated contrapuntal chant of:

(One half of the delegation): “VIVA!”

And the other half would respond “OLE!”

Look it up.”

I believe you. I was too young back then to “get it”... plus I lived in Mississippi and we well, needless to say, illegals weren’t an issue for us back then.

Regardless of what the pundits and naysayers may spout, this was the best executed convention of either party in at least the last 30 years.

Heart
» Barracuda

So this aint the end, I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smile like the sun, kisses for everyone
And tails it never fails

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
You’d have me down, down, down, down on my knees, now wouldn’t
you?
Barracuda! Ohh

Back over time we were all trying for free
you met the porpoise and me, aha
No right no wrong selling a song
A name whisper game

And if the real thing don’t do the trick
you better make up something quick
your gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn to the wick
Ooh, Barracuda, Oh yeah

“sell me sell you” the porpoise said
dive down deep down save my head, you
I think that you got the blues too
All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made out for western pools, silly, silly fools

The real thing don’t do the trick
You better make up something quick
Your gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick
Oh, Barra Barracuda! Yeah

Ooh!

I am weeping.

At first the speech's rhythm was so bad I took off my glasses, held my head in my hands and feared the TV audience would tune out.

And then he talked about Vietnam.

And it all changed.

And I, a middle-aged man approaching 60, had to choke back tears.

I don’t mean to be grumpy but this bipartisan business gives me a rash.

he simply gave us a reason to forget him for a few days and focus on someone we could feel positive about.

I will refrain from venting my contempt on your illogic and just point out that it was McCain who had the wisdom to pick Palin in the first place.

I am restraining myself out of kindness because I am feeling uplifted by a great speech. Pretty soon I will probably feel less "positive" and let you know what I really think.

Well before the talking head start. All in All kinda rough but I believe he did well.

Not a Palin orator but not bad.
