ST. PAUL -- The 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant, Palin said on Monday in an announcement intended to knock down rumors by liberal bloggers that Palin faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her child.

In these times we need good role models for our children. I find it hard to believe that McCain knew about it. Of course, he is no role model himself. Not only did he have an affair while his wife was sick, he left her for the other woman.
When she left Obama Jr to pursue it, at that time her career was social anthropology. She left to do field work in Indonesia and in Japan. Once she got her doctorate she then moved into “rural development” and such programs as micro-loans, working within what has become the web of international NGO’s.
And if you’re ill-brought-up enough to see that abstinence is a superior avoidance tool than abortion, that issue needs to be taken up with your parents.
You don't know that.
We just found out today.
She was only chosen Friday. This is the next media day.
It is this kind of judgmentalism and demands for perfection from good, fallible people that keep the good folks from wanting to enter the political arena.
I am not perfect and have made mistakes. You would prevent me from participating. I will come down on your judgmentalism. We need good folks to lead. Even if they are imperfect. One must look at the responses to imperfection.
I prefer Palin's to yours.
Palin family actions in this situation speak louder than any “holier than thou” words anyone on this thread has dared to spew.
The person I was responding to wanted to know why conservatives were not expressing outrage.
Bill O Reilly (tape delay) said on radio show today he doesn’t think this is going to have any real effect on voters...
You seem to be prejudging the situation. While the circumstances are not ideal, the outcome is not a foregone conclusion.
I know a young woman who got pregnant while in high school and was inspired by the circumstances to be the best that she could be. The boyfriend wanted her to have an abortion and refused permission to put the baby up for adoption. So, she made the best of a very bad situation, with absolutely no family help (her parents had recently divorced and her mother was diagnosed as bi-polar). By the time she was twenty one, she had a job and had built her own self help house. She is now married, the mother of three and living in their second home.
What's he saying??
I know diehard liberal O-groupies who are gonna get real uncomfortable if/when the lefties attack Palin or her daughter over this.
Some of these women remember when women lost their jobs or were hidden from society because they became pregnant-even when they were married.
They won’t like this one little bit.
This is only news if one can prove Bill Clinton was in Aska 5 months ago. Other than that it is simply democrat sleaze and should be ignored.
“10:1 Biden brings this up during the debate like Edwards did Cheneys gay daugther.”
I hope he does. sarah will knock it out of the park.
Thank you for sharing. I admire you very much for your choice which was the right one.
Thank you, MC. I appreciate that. I’m aware that I’m a neo-Puritan in regard to these issues, and it’s nice to have someone get my back.
McCain is going to find that many many of those checks he recieved are going to bounce or asked to be returned.
I want a “Palin” to be the Veep.
And thank YOU, mylife. I’m very opinionated, much like IRL. :)
McCain didn't know. Source?
I don’t think anyone truly realizes how diasterous to our nation an Obama presidency will be. Right now he makes Clinton look like Mt. Rushmore material.
To consider NOT voting for our side because of this one mistake, that the girl and her family are paying for and taking care of, is to me the most absurd, rigid, and narrow minded action imaginable.
Yes, we are accountable for our actions. Yes, we are given commands and yes there are consequences for those actions. I think the Palin family should be prayed for and given our support instead of critiques.
Sorry if you thought I was taking it out on you. It wasn’t my intention.
