I am having a bit of trouble with that statement geographically. What am I missing?

According to the A.P., the address will be given in the Rose Garden. He should be speaking from the Oval Office.

"....Obama has already called for troops to be sent to Atlanta."

He undoubtedly added that they should be returned home before X-mas.

Bush is too late, Hussein Obama has already called for troops to be sent to Atlanta.

Then he is already back. I hope he mentions the Presidents of these other countries (Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia) who are flying to Tiblisi as we speak and announces he will join them.

Those five are acting like true leaders, putting themselves on the line at great risk because they see the great threat for what it is.

God bless 'em for it...and God blesss Bush and grant him the wisdon to lead forthrightly in this crisis.

Well, that's certainly a possibility. I hope it doesn't happen. This is an object lesson, short and simple. Disagree with us and well assassinate you. Putin's a two-bit thug.

So what the heck can President Bush say??? It’s done. It isn’t like he can grab Putin by the ear and take him to the woodshed at Crawford for a whippin’. All I can do is reflect on his statements about “looking into Putin’s eyes” and seeing an honest broker he felt we could work with. Wasn’t it Cheney who said when he looked into Putin’s eyes all he saw was ex-KGB?

This speech tonight can only be empty, pointless words like, “Bad boy! Bad, bad Putin. Bad Vlad.” To which the response will be, “Yeah, so what?”

They already sent that message in England with the radiation poisoning...just not so high up the ladder.

But what you say is true...it is clear that Putin's old KGB days are back and out in the open and he may well be willing to do it to anyone who stands in the way.

Agreed ... the US honestly can't do much about it. If you're one of the ones that thinks we can tell us what you think we could do, besides escalating it into a nuclear conflict. This is exactly why Iran must never get nukes

Right: Imperial Russia is invading Georgia because Zionism is a form of racism. It makes sense to the UN!

That was a slap at operatives, but not so much Presidents. You touched on that. Putin is out in the open now. No more coy salesmanship here.

President Bush should make his statement while standing shoulder to shoulder with the 5 Other Presidents.

I think it’s easy for us here to make a joke of this. I’m not sure what we can do at this juncture other than do some hard boiled thinking about it.

As I see it, Georgia’s President took the unfortunate stance of sending Georgian troops in to quell disorder thus playing into the Putin’s hands. Now the Russians will take this as far as they can and perhaps even take the capital.

One thing that we underestimate and that is the fury of a people who have had a taste of freedom, only to have it taken away.

I am confident that the people of Georgia, as the people of Iraq, now that they’ve experienced the taste of freedom will defend to the death their right to maintain that.
