Absolutely one of the great ones. I always said he should have been his Press Secretary from day one of the start of the second term for Bush. He would have saved a lot of messes from happening due to Scott the scumbag.

What a great individual he was. So smart. Great sarcasm. A talent that will be greatly missed. I remember watching The Factor about 2 months ago and he had Tony on the phone when the McClellan story broke and he was asked how he was feeling and he said he was trying to get over a bad cold.

The chemo did him in.

So sad to see a fellow Freeper go as well.

RIP Tony...you WILL be missed.

Some days there just seems to be ... why is it that the best men are taken from us when we need them the most?

Prayers tumbling out for Tony's family and close friends ... I wonder sometimes if God allows our minds to lose coherency in old age so the holes made by losses during our lifetime are not so noticeable in the end? But god how the hole-punching takes your breath away when they happen.

I was watching Fox News for a while this morning. What a loss we have experienced! Even Juan Williams spoke emotionally about Tony.

I was struck by the light in Tony's eyes and face during his last months. He was a truly good man.

Ladies and gentlemen, I cannot tell you how saddened I am by Tony’s passing. My wife called me and broke the news to me. I was fortunate to be able to talk to Tony on his radio show on two occasions. The first to relate that AlGore, after one of his crazy rants, was a “hamburger short to of a happy meal”, which brought laughter from Tony. The second, was to break the news that he was to be named the President’s Press Secretary, which brought an explanation as to his thinking for taking or not taking the job. I will miss him tremendously and pray for him and his family. His wit and good nature, in this politically rancid environment, will be missed.

We have lost one of the real good guys today! God speed, Tony!

What a beautiful shot of Tony in a flight suit, gathering his children close and hugging them, with a little American flag fluttering in the breeze.

Now I can’t see the screen again!

FNC is interspersing their news with little snips of Tony. I especially loved his comment to Helen that when he reached her age he would enjoy making the Press Secretary’s life miserable—or words to that effect.

Tony Snow has nothing to fear. Grant him thy eternal rest, O Lord. And may perpetual light shine on him.

Lord of all, have mercy on his family and sustain them in their time of sorrow.

Tony was a class person. I knew him briefly about ten years ago, and exchanged emails for a while. America has lost a great spirit.

I must leave for a bit and get some things accomplished (Tony would not like a slacker), but I would like to thank everyone who joined this thread to remember Tony Snow.

It reminded me what great people you all are.

Terribly sad whenever anyone so young leaves us.

Prayers for his loving wife and children, for his entire family and all of his many friends.

That was a nice tribute to Tony.

I am having trouble with knowing that Fox is having a tribute tonight but with O'Reily, Greta and (erck!) Geraldo. I'll never forget when O'Reilly called Tony a 'pinhead' on his show one night. Tony looked a little shocked but then laughed and continued on to make his point.

I would have preferred Britt and Major Garret and also Brian Wilson (who just spoke so sweetly of Tony just now)
