Short but serious question:
So, what's it gonna be folks? Turncoat RINO or America hating Marxist?
For no other reason than the future of the US Supreme Court...
Turncoat RINO.
Has everyone forgotten perot?
I always thought I’d be a kid...and not have much worth adding...but, AS THE VOICE OF REASON: WE GOT CLINTONS BECAUSE OF PEROT...LET’S NOT DO WORSE BY THE SAME MISTAKE!!
I’m all for a new path; but this is not the time to take it. If we can build a new party or a new direction between this upcoming election and the next, I’ll happily join in. THIS, however, is NOT the time! We are already IN this election, and one of the main parties will win. Don’t BE the cause of having the Democrats win.
“I would take a RINO any day of the week over a marxist. Put a marxist in power and you end up with killing fields, gulags, and poverty stricken masses”
Indeed. I’m currently reading Ayn Rand’s “We The Living” and finding out about that.
I’ll vote McCain - no regrets.
- John
Regards your question, I would rather see iran suffering from radioactivity than sacramento. I have checked the prevailing winds, and there is really no place to go around here.
Since my ditty bag is insufficient for long term survival, my choice would be to let them burn, not us.
McCain is far from what I would "like", but the alternative simply sucks.
I expect the first thing they would do is hold a constitutional convention, and rewrite that pesky document, for the children and all, and not forget to put in there somewhere a few lines concerning the right to suspend the vote...indefinately.
I live in upstate New York, which is mainly conservative, but the heavy weight of the City below means no matter if I managed to vote 100 times over, it'd still go for the Dem.
So I'm sitting it out, with regard to POTUS, because I can't bring myself to add to the pile of capitulation of principles. I'd rather see things go farther downhill for a term or two, than continue with the slip-slide that characterizes the recent past.
That said, I'll be very active in the battles elsewhere on the ballot.
Welcome back.
1. Certainly I know I won’t vote for Barack Obama under any circumstances.
2. I haven’t decided about McCain. He’s better than Obama, but if he gets elected, then we’ll have two left wing parties instead of one, and that may give us no alternatives for the long term.
I’m still hoping for a miracle, I guess.
First, welcome back, and speedy and continued healing.
Second, John McCain. I voted once for a leftist for President, not because I liked his leftism, or even because I knew what leftism was...it was because I was young (19) and stupid. Thankfully, my vote-getter lost. Unfortunately, so did the next two (Bush 41 and Dole).
Despite the differences I have had, and likely will continue to have, with Senator McCain, and while I agree with Hugh Hewitt’s assessment of him as “great American, marginal Senator, terrible Republican”, I believe he is the better of the two choices we will have in November - and the best of the three choices we have now.
Hope without an object is empty, and change for change’s sake is just as empty. My only expectation with either BHO or HRC is that I hope I have some change in my pocket, after my taxes skyrocket, or I lose my job.
So I will vote for McCain, vote for conservative Republicans down the ticket, and pray that the GOP grows a collective pair below the waist.
Wonderful to see you back, Jim!
I’m afraid that “America-hating Marxist” is too nice a description for either of the Demagogues.
As for McCain, I’m trying to keep in mind that I cannnot imagine allowing either of those worthless surrender-weasel Demagogues to be C-in-C in wartime. That’s what I’m going to keep repeating to myself for the next 5+ months.
It is so good to see you back!!!
And you probably already know what I and mine are going to do.
I will vote for the least of my worries. And that isn’t bho!
We have NO other choice.
Soooooo.....John McCain, it will be. And I say this while smiling!!!
Oh please. In 1992, Clinton and the Democrats controlled the federal government. What happened 2 years later?
There's no need to be afraid of Obama. This nation would rise up so fast it'll make your head spin. If McCain chooses another RINO for VP and keeps spewing the global warming/amnesty/campaign-finance bologna, then conservatives might as well concede the WH. And don't give me this stuff about doing it for the troops either, because no presidential candidate is dumb enough to pull the rug out from under our troops while progress is being made in Iraq.
What if not voting at all can be a bad decision? That is partly how we ended up with John McCain. Not enough voted for the alternatives while there was the chance.
Now not voting could really be a vote for the marxists.
He's got my vote!
What a nation of pushovers! The TV people "decide" whom you are given the "choice" to vote for, and 99.99% are stoopeed enough to go along with it!
My conscience wont allow me to pull a lever for Mr Constitution Shredder!
Welcome back!
It’s McCain all the way.
But I don't want Wonderboy or the gaggle of incompetent fools clinging to his coat-tails in office. I recall R. Lee Ermey referring to a certain sort of sandwich from which we're all going to have to take a bite.
To have the GOP commit suicide is not as bad as to destroy Our Nation by allowing either clinton or obama to become “president.”
I’ll be smart, and wait for the right moment—when we have the strength and the power.
Your “cure” will kill the patient.
Most sane people are voting for McCain.
I’m curious as to how we ended up in this situation. I think the question is not what will we do. The question is what will you do? Will you continue to torpedo Republican candidates that you don’t agree with? Will you have a running “(Candidate X) Truth File” each election cycle to attack those candidates you deem not conservative enough? You had a big hand in making this McCain bed, and I think it’s time you slept in it.
I will admit to being the most ignorant and slowest person on earth I just discovered that this whole thread was presented my Jim Robinson gosh, welcome back!!
Rhino of course-he does not hate America.
Had dinner tonight with a conservative Republican state legislator
in Maine (one of the few).
I am not sure if he is a Freeper or not but he should be.
He is the type of candidate I will support and donate money and or
time.
We agreed on two points: 1. the Republicans have made a seriou
error in not supporting legislation (or pressuring Bush at least)
to secure the borders. 2. the Repulicans have made another serious
error in not supporting additional drilling for oil everywhere.
In a short period of time Chineses oil rigs will be drilling for
oil in Cuban waters. A few miles away, there will be no American
rigs with American workers paying US taxes.
Turncoat RINO for me, unfortunately. Unless, of course, he picks someone odious for his VP. Then all bets are off.
