It is my opinion that we need to pray for our leaders this election.
Many Conservative are disappointed with the selection of Senator John S. McCain. But in one sense, he is the true conservative in values -- he has fought for campaign finance reform -- getting big money out of politics.
This should allow the little guy (or gal) more voice in what this country is doing.
In some religions, it is part of the church service to pray for the leaders of a country (Ukrainian Catholic, for example).
We must pray for our leaders and pray that the Congress that is elected in 2008 will serve our Judeo-Christian country and help restore traditional values.
We need to win back the HOUSE and SENATE.
Additionally, Senator John S. McCain may choose a Vice Presidental candidate that many conservatives will warm up to.
I have heard it once said: YOU GET WHAT YOU PRAY FOR.
Obviously, if we are not praying (and working) for the conservatives values this country needs for this election, then God will not help us.
We must be like the Old Widow who continually went to the Judge. Eventually, the Judge gave in the Old Widom because she continually asked the Judge to see her point of view.
That’s a scary thought I ought not contemplate as I prepare to go to bed tonight. :-/
NO SALE
Pray for him at home. Pray for him on another forum. Gather together with friends adn family to pray for him. Pray for him at church.
Please do not set up threads to talk about his shoe laces, his ties, his latest shirt, his top third tooth on the left from dead center, his belt, the color of his suit, how great Laura looks, what his daughter have done, how sexy he is with an axe in his hands, how you’d love to give him a peck on the cheek.
S-P-A-R-E U-S-!
Sorry, the only praying I can do concerning McCain is that some sort of miracle happen and he be replaced by a candidate that represents somewhat more than about 5% of my values.
Hey, topher! It’s been a long time.
I know you will be flamed, and so will I, but I agree with you to a point...
We need to pray for this country, and it’s potential leaders.
I don’t like that McCain is our nominee...I don’t like it at all.
But, he will be much better than either of the other two.
For those reading, I don’t like McCain, but I would be more comfortable with him over Hillary! or Obama.
For those who flame you, just WHO would you nominate?
And, HOW would you fund them?
Sometimes the real world isn’t pretty.
I hope those who reject the real world...end up happy.
I might be interested in joining with this, but I will need sit back and see what really takes form.
I’d pray for God to lift McCain’s anger and hostility, except those are the only worthwhile qualities he offers as POTUS in these times.
So will I!
Lordy...they downright worshiped the man!
I will be behind you all of the way.
GOOD point. ;o)
Well...now...that was to the point, and LOL funny. ;o)
When the truth is called flaming I guess we’ve got doublespeak. 1984 came a little late but here it is.
I’m in. I will pray for John McCain and for God to grant him the wisdom to lead the US wisely.
Are you insane? McCain-Feingold was all about protecting incumbent politicians and adding draconian restrictions on free-speech and the ability of the 'little guy' to get involved in politics. Real campaign finance reform would focus on increased transparency; instead McCain pushed for a regime that was almost the exact opposite of any known conservative principle (the fact that most far-leftists supported it should have been the first giveaway).
I don’t think speaking the truth is flaming.
However, I believe in the reality we live in...today.
Lordy! I don’t hate anyone, or anything, but I’m beginning to hate elections.
Perhaps you’d better refresh your memory:
“John McCain, you treasonous.....”

Hey, Jim! Did you know McCain proved he is conservative by forging that lovely “conservative” bill, McCain-Feingold?
The truth is the truth. Before adopting the tactics of the left they ought to look around and see how the left is imploding these days.
I could not agree more.
Late nite reminders.
Thank you!
I don’t like what he’s done.
Would you recommend someone else for whom to vote?
I’m at a loss...and am very conflicted.
Which version, McCain-Feingold-Thompson or McCain-Feingold-Cochran?
I haven’t decided who to vote for. It won’t be any of the Three Stooges.
My family can’t believe it, but I WILL NOT vote for McCain. He isn’t even a decent man. At least I had that to cling to when I reluctantly voted for Dole.
