Attn McCain Apologists: Talk all you want!

But he's still a constitution trampling RINO and unless he repeals McCain-Feingold, repudiates amnesty and global warming, drops all support for embryonic stem cell research and stops talking about partnering up with the Democrats and instead swears to fight the evil bastards he won't be getting my support.

You kicked the conservatives to the curb and nominated your RINO, now all you gotta do is get him elected.

However, that shouldn't be all that tough to do. Look what he'll be running against. A corrupt, power hungry Marxist radical feminist control freak or a corrupt, America-hating racist Marxist surrender monkey (oops, can I say "surrender monkey" in this context?). Can't see America going for either of those two useful idiots.

By the way, "change" is a Marxist codeword.

As they say, America deserves better.

Carry on.

P.S.

Or, you can select a kick butt pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-America, pro-gun, pro-drilling, pro-defense, pro-small government, fiscal conservative as your running mate and signal a return to traditional conservatism as the future of the GOP and of America and you will get all the support you need. If she's a moose hunting Alaskan army mom, all the better!

Good, then John can nominate three or four more Ginsbergs while in office, since you don’t mind. Have you ever even heard of the words integrity, conservatism?

McCain recognizes the danger of Islamofascism, Obama and Hillary don’t think it’s a big deal. On that basis alone he beats them.

While he might recognize it, it's a pity that like Jorge Bush, he's not serious about winning it. If he were, he wouldn't be trying to close down GITMO, protesting the use of "torture",

So, we will win the war by feeding terrorists Fruit Loops and giving them Korans at GTMO under the glare of the news media that erodes the will of the Home Front to win the war by portraying GTMO to the Sheeple, that will elect the next Commander-in-Chief, as the Caribbean branch of Dachau?

If a military operation is causing more harm than good to the total war effort, that particular military operation is expendable.

You do not win wars by fighting losing public opinion battles over whether or not GTMO should be closed.

You win wars by KILLING the enemy and having the captured ones imprisoned and questioned in a place that is not on the Nightly News twice a week ...... You know, like those places in the nations of our allies (that shall remain nameless) where news reporters with cameras are not welcomed.

When even Rumsfeld and George W. Bush opposed the Surge, McCain was championing the strategy that is now winning the war by KILLING the enemy.

Published December 27, 2006 ..... Novak: McCain's 'aggressive surge' stance backfiring ........ conservative columnist Robert Novak suggests that Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) "aggressive" push for a U.S. troop expansion -- or "surge" -- in Iraq may be costing the top 2008 GOP contender in the polls, especially when matched against another presumed front-runner, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY). "The decline in the polls of [McCain], as measured against [Clinton], reflects more than declining Republican popularity ......... "It connotes public disenchantment with McCain's aggressive advocacy of a 'surge' of up to 30,000 additional U.S. troops to Iraq

"I understand the polls show only 18 percent of the American people support my position. But I have to do what's right, what I believe is right and what my experience and knowledge and background tells me is the right thing to do in order to save this situation in Iraq ... In war, my dear friends, there's no such thing as compromise. You either win or you lose." - Sen. John McCain's reaction to the Iraq Study Group Report, 2006

... The only thing we can do is not cast our vote for him.

And fight him at every opportunity and turn in the House should he become the accidental President.

Wish I had at least a chance to vote for Fred.

Are you in Texas too?! ;o)

It was all over before the vote got here. I'm so tired of voting against and long for a candidate that I can vote for.

Get used to voting for RINO’s you don’t like.

No. Support candidates who share your values, even if they belong to minor parties. Once the GOP realizes that we're pulling the plug, they might get their sh*t together long enough to bring their party back to conservative principles before it flatlines permanently.

Otherwise, if you keep rewarding them with votes every time they offer you crap for a candidate, they'll just keep offering you more crap.

That would be a damn fine moniker for MacCain, "The Accidental President".

I am. And I voted for Fred. I'm only going to vote for McCain when absolutely necessary, with nose held tightly.

He is, however, a hero and deserving of great respect for his service. So I hold my nose because of his political actions.

Interesting article re the inner workings of the WV GOP convention. However, as stated in the article, McCain was the front runner at that point, so something happened prior to the WV GOP convention it would seem, no?

I wouldn’t be holding my breath if I were you. You could be right but me thinks Rush is a rather crafty spinner of the truth. I enjoy listening to him but I see some wool creeping into the picture.

I’m very glad to have read this. To be honest, I was waiting to see which way this site would go on McCain before donating.

I’m happy to see it is sticking to conservative principles and not catering to a party that is rapidly changing. I’ll go donoate now. Good timing on posting this thread ;)

Yes, there was more to it than this incident, W. Va was just one. McCain was the ‘front runner’ because the media said so, he was 3rd in W.Va.

Now, that is the most short sighting statement I’ve ever read on freerepublic. Jim, no donation is the result.

You know that John McCain is for smaller government, cutting back on spending,

I used to believe that about Bush. Boy is my face red.

,i>Now, that is the most short sighting statement I’ve ever read on freerepublic. Jim, no donation is the result.</>

Then why be on here? I mean really. If someone disagrees with you on a topic, you choose to not help support FR? I have given loads to FR and still have to put up with lots of people here who I disagree with, including you.

It’s nice that people like Jim support this site so we can have freeloaders use their donation as a club rather than to say you believe in debate and support the premise of the site.

Dude you are going to get banned for McCain bashing. LOL!

Thanks for this forum Jim. And thanks for all the improvements recently.

I saw McCain up close and personal while he was in Houston recently. He simply does not care what you, I or anyone else thinks. Not even a bit. He is not a "maverick" as the media like to describe him, he is a guy that thinks he knows everything. I've seen those types in positions of power before and they are the most horrid kind of politician.

With that said, and while vividly remembering Ross Perot, I will hold my nose and vote for McCain. Unless he picks a horrid VP candidate. Why? Because judging from the way McCain looked the other day he won't be around long. I was standing in the press gaggle and it was interesting to see the photographers photoshopping McCain's face. The guy is obviously in bad shape.

I’m in the Northwest. Oh well. I’ll vote for McCain since I hate Hillary and think Obama is naive and probably dangerous (not to mention his positions on everything, especially abortion) - every time I hear that pastor on TV I just cringe. How anyone could sit there listening to that I’ll never know.
