That's politics. You give up some of what you want and get some of what you want so that you don't end up with none of what you want. I visualize it as cutting off my foot to save my life. Call me "Mr. Cheerful" this morning. Nope. I'd call you "Mr. Wise Guy"!
You said it right.

To all those of you who jabber about "holding your nose".
The Republican Party doesn't give a $#!+ what you do with your nose. All they care about is what you do with your ballot.
If you (continue to) cast your ballot for a lightweight socialist, they'll know that they can continue to serve up lightweight socialist candidates, without consequence.
That's nice, if you're a lightweight socialist.
If you're conservative, or libertarian, or federalist ... it's stupid.

You are probably right about Newt but I can dream, can’t I? I would still put his skeletons up against Hillary’s.
To: Perdogg
Of course I'd vote for McCain. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I'd do it.
The Senate and House are going to stay Democrat for this cycle. Imagine the damage that could be done in only two years of Dem rule. For starters, the aging liberals on the Supreme Court will run for the exits and they'd be replaced with young, pro-abortion liberals.

If the candidate isnt Thompson, Hunter, or Paul, Im voting 3rd party.< Good for you - and if voters like you let the Socialists in = after they turn Iraq, Afghanistan and the world back to the islamofacists - you can look in the mirror every day and see someone who has/and will continue to have, the blood of, first, many of our troops, and then, increasingly around the world, blood of tens of thousands of civilians, on your hands.
yep, let 'em in, the barbarians are counting on you -

My first choice would be Ruddy, But McCain runs a close second, I would happily give him the vote.

Well, he’ll not be the nominee. That you can count on. So I’m not going to go there.
