That is total bullsh!t, you could find Democrat shills trying to plant that kind of mindset on this site IMO.
There is hardly EVER the perfect or really good candidate. Now in the primaries is when you do your best to put your guy in. If they perfect candidate doesn't make it through you do the best you can.
Any Republican over the Democrat will get you better judges, less taxes, no socialized medicine along with better national security.
If someone is looking to duck responsibility by not voting or voting third party despite all the damage caused , then they should just tattoo "I AM A BIG DEMOCRAT LOVER" on their butts.
I've watched the protest vote BS in action for some time. Ross Perot took some of the vote and brought us Clinton, so being a third party drone doesn't ever get you a badge of conservatism.
It would be like someone having patched your boat the best they could and you starting to drill holes in the bottom of your boat while complaining about your boat taking on water.
Please leave the thick headed stupidity to Democrats. There are hardly ever perfect candidates.

I will be voting write in for POTUS, and in my state and local elections.
I gladly walked out my door to put a cnservative in against an incumbent RAT mayor in my city. He won, and I am happy about it. These schlubs we have running, except for a few, are not worth my time.

Reagan was called a warmonger for his actions at Rekiavic, his missile deployment in Europe and for many of his brilliant comments. He was called all sorts of names by folks for his ‘Bring down this wall’ comment.
At Rekiavic he was specifically spanked by know-it-all liberal republican leaders for ‘missing a once in a lifetime opportunity’. He had to fight off his own party leadership, to put the Pershing II (I belive it was Pershing II) nukes in Europe.
He was fought tooth and nail against undermining that communist germ in Nicaragua, that has come to power again.
Are we talking about democrats? No. The republican leadership thought he was a loose cannon. They thought he was senile. They thought he didn’t have a clue a majority of the time.
Reagan was vindicated when the wall came down. He was also vindicated when his own diary revealed that he was lucid and still driving policy and day to day operations up until the end of his presidency.
A considerable number of leading republicans did not buy into this while he was in office.
I said no such thing. Vote for whoever you want, but vote. Participate. If you don't like something, get involved in changing it.
Not sure what the basis of your comment to me is, since I wasn't speaking to you directly. I don't care who you vote for, or don't vote for. But 50% of the electorate is not voting, and THAT is dangerous...and lazy.

Third party votes are also like pissing down your own legs because it buys you a Democrat victory.
Basic economics. The GOP needs to provide a product we want or we'll go elsewhere. Will a D get elected? Yes, but that is not might fault. Besides, why not get the shooting war started sooner, and it is the GOP's fault for pissing away their base. Eventually they might get a clue.
Who ever the Republican is, they will be better than giving the Democrat the election.

The bi-partisan support on social issues (ref. Rudy) from the democrats combined with Party loyalty from the Republicans would be devastating--when it comes to furthering the liberal social agenda. No thanks.

Still though indylindy, we have to compare that to the consequences of installing uber liberals who will then put in uber liberal judges, taxation and so forth in if you don’t vote or vote third party causing Democrats a victory.
Yep, I would like a Fred Thompson or the ghost of Ronald Reagan to take flesh and run again, but if that doesn’t come to be we don’t want to screw up the candidate that gets us towards our goal in favor of an action that puts your worst enemy into power.

We do what we can to get the best candidate.
We get who we get then in these tight races have to pick between two electable parties.
Democrats are talking cut and run, socialized medicine, increased taxation, and the most rabid liberal justices.
The Republicans are promising better justices, less taxation, no socialized medicine and a stronger national security compared to Democrats.
We need some kind of a majority to win.
What candidate do you have that is electable and not some 5% throw away vote?
I don’t mind you being stubborn for good things, but what is your plan to not cause the Democrats to take power?

The time to bitch slap the Republicans is by replacing the bad ones in primaries.
If you find in this case a McCain getting elected as you do all you can to get your choice in, well then, better effort next time.
Obviously the electorate isn’t where you want it to be yet and you need to work on that if you wish.
Still the bottom line is we have to do everything to keep the Democrats out of power.

I am not staying home. I will vote. I just won’t vote for McCain, Huckabee, or Giuliani for the top spot. Why should I be complicit in the election of pro-amnesty candidates whether they be Rep or Dem. If amnesty is granted to the 12 to 20 million illegals, the country is finished as we know it. Amnesty is forever.
Just not going to happen for me this time the way things look. I have to look in the mirror and respect myself.

I wasn’t a Bush fan, and I held my nose. I held it again in 2006. It never improves, it just gets worse and if this race doesn’t improve, I am done with it.
Except that last time it happened, 1993-1994, it lead to 14 years of a Republican Congress and eight years of a Republican president until they both blew it by acting like Democrats.
If FReepers elect a liberal Republican wins in 2008 they'll kill off conservatism for good. The new paradigm won't be limited government vs. big government, but who can manage socialized medicine and a cradle-to-grave welfare state better.
Third party voting or non voting... The country has been there and done that. The results were ex-42 Clinton. We don't need another.
