Most likely, the hookers who meant only to knock them out and take their wallets used too large a dose.

This is the modern navy. Could be that it was a love triangle gone violent.

Well, it’s just foolish to speculate on what happened. That said, I hope the Navy is being polite rather than naive when it says it is relying on the investigative acumen of the “host nation.”The host nation, after all, is Ghana, a poor third world state with very weak public institutions and few resources. I’ve been there.

Possible. Or they were drinking really, really bad stuff.

I believe the local alcohol is something like 120 proof.

Sailors with hookers???

Believe it or not, it is actual now a UCMJ offense to patronize a hooker.

...and zero motivation to blame one of their own citizens...

Of course you're correct, but to me it's more of an example of how PC we have become.

*shrug* The former Commanding General of the Marine Corps was know to say:

"It isn't the fear of punishment that keeps Marines in line. It is the CERTAINTY!"

I prefer a more dramatic case--Navy Seals or CIA on a mission. Somebody didn't buy their sailor credentials. Also, my inquiring mind jumped straight to the ROP questiion.

Tragedy any way you explain it.
