YouTube video via Drudge- Ron Paul quote this morning on Fox and Friends- "When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross. "
I know of only one religion which seeks to conquer the world with the point of a sword and eliminate all other religions..
And the ONLY peacemakers of whom I am aware wears the uniform of the American armed forces, or sits in the oval office.
The who being today's version of the NSDAP-wedded to "religion," and not the kind practiced by Christians or Jews, and heartily endorsed by the EU, UN and other anti-Western bodies.
I agree with Ron Paul's critique of the Huckabee campaign-his attempt to turn this race into a contest for Preacher-in-Chief is not only obnoxious, but disturbing-but as usual, his painful inarticulateness mangles the message he's trying to convey.
Plus, it is an apocryphal quote, which Lewis never uttered.
Quote of the day.
Doesn't matter. What matters is Ron Paul used it to smear Huckabee and, by extension, Christianity. It could have been uttered by Donald Duck and the facts would be the same.
It could have been a completely made up quote by Ron Paul and the facts would remain the same.
Paul is a fool. Paul was wrong for saying what he did. And you, and others, are looking foolish for defending him.
I hate to find myself in agreement with Dr. Demento, but I think he has a point. Fascism, and it’s brother Socialism, will adopt the symbols of it’s enemies to acquire power.
I think the anti-Christ will come in with a law degree and a cat. Yes, Hillary, I am talking about *you*.
“Doesn’t matter. What matters is Ron Paul used it to smear Huckabee and, by extension, Christianity. It could have been uttered by Donald Duck and the facts would be the same.”
No - he used it to attack Huckabee’s televangelistic campaign.
That’s it. It’s a charge that I think has some merit. The Huckabee ad was disgusting.
"Had Charles Martel not been victorious at Poitiersalready you see the world had already fallen into the hands of the Jews, so gutless a thing Christianity!then we should in all probability have been converted to Mohammedanism, that cult which glorifies the heroism and which opens up the seventh Heaven to the bold warrior alone. Then the Germanic races would have conquered the world. Christianity alone prevented them from doing so."Obviously, history should have taught Ron Paul and his Leftist fellow travelers that Fascism would come to America promising Socialism and admiring Islam.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
"Hitler usually concluded this historical speculation by remarking "You see, it's been our misfortune to have the wrong religion. Why didn't we have the religion of the Japansese, who regard sacrifice for the Fatherland as the highest good? The Mohammedan religion too would have been much more compatible to us than Christianity. Why did it have to be Christianity with its meekness and flabbiness?"
Albert Speer, Nazi Germanys Minister for Armaments
Inside the Third Reich, chapter 7
I stand corrected. I still think Hillary is the anti-Christ, though.
How about on the back of a candidate who claims to be a Constitutionalist, but who takes money from neo-Nazis?
Is there any chance at all that the neo-Nazis might be backing the fascist candidate?
Do not get me wrong, I am glad you are here if you are devoted to the constitutional and moral principles upon which our republic is based. EEE is an ally in that cause.
Paul has many very respectable and correct positions when it comes to governance under the constitution. I just strongly disagree with him on his foreign policy vision as regards the world we live in today where the Islamic radicals abjectly want to destroy us, and where other enemies are gathering strength and waiting in the wings (ie. Red China).
If we could stop the food fight for a few minutes and recognize those types of things, we can still come together on most issues that unite us, get through the primaries, and hopefully field a true conservatve candidate against the DNC at this critical juncture in history. In the end, I believe we will.
RON PAUL: Well, I havent thought about it completely, but you know, it reminds me of what Sinclair, uh, Lewis once said, he said when Fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross. I dont know whether thats a fair assessment or not, but you wonder about using a cross like he is the only Christian, or implying that subtly. So, uh, I dont think I would ever use anything like that.
DOOCY: So, uh, Congressm you know, uh, Governor Huckabee is not selling fascism. Hes simply sending out a Christmas message, anyway, just curious how you felt about that. Congressman, if you would sit right there in Des Moines just for a moment, were going to take a quick time out...
No - he used it to attack Huckabees televangelistic campaign.
Thats it. Its a charge that I think has some merit. The Huckabee ad was disgusting.
He could have made any number of statements that attacked Huckabee without associating Christianity with Fascism. The fact he chose to use this phrase, whether apocryphal or not, while continuing to take money from known Fascists is despicable beyond belief.
You want to defend him? Fine. That tells me something, too.
I've seen similar arguments used to tacitly equate heresy with treason.
“He could have made any number of statements that attacked Huckabee without associating Christianity with Fascism.”
I don’t see it that way. The charge is as empty as Dems claim that challenging their policies is “questioning their patriotism.”
Although, by the same token, they don't accomplish anything either.
I'm glad that you brought up this subject though, since the claim made by the Paulistas that their preferred candidate only votes for pieces of legislation that are consonant with the Constitution, or which do not increase the power of government authorities, is patent nonsense.
While in Congress he's done his share to spread the pork-or, since he's so deferent to the interests of Moslems, pastrami-throughout his district in the form of earmarks-although I don't believe that earmarks is an important issue in the broader budget debate, it does illustrate his hypocrisy-and has co-sponsored bills that do not meet his own absurd, minarchist definitions.
I'm not surprised.
Izzy Dunne takes an early lead for One-Liner of the Week.
And a mighty fine one it is, too.
That one's going to be hard to beat.
Well done!
