Is that a new Summer Olympics sport? We’re gonna lose that competition.

Good for Pat and Vlad!

That age really is the perfect time to learn a new language.

China is going to be coming apart at the seams soon?

On what, perchance, do you base that prediction?

It seems to this poster, that China is TAKING US APART at the seams. And we seem incapable of even taking the first steps, to doing even one single thing, to stop the process.

We are being outworked. Outflanked. Outinvested. Outmanuvered. And we sit and predict (other) countries are on the wrong track???

BTW: If you are to study a foreign language, I would recommend Mandarin and Spanish over French, which for some odd reason is usually the language “other” than Spanish offerred by our schools. French is a useless language, unless you want to read wine labels.

So “one student” either has racist parents or is hanging out with the wrong kind of people. Immigration issues have nothing to do with “race.”

&&
Or possibly he was just being a stupid adolescent and repeating a phrase he saw on some TV documentary. Kids often say stupid things without grasping the significance of what they are saying, let alone believing what they are saying.

Example: I was a teacher in a small private high school when the Columbine shootings occurred. You probably recall that the shooters had a hit list. Well, following much TV coverage of the incident, I was walking down the hall between classes and found myself near a student of mine, who was walking down the hall repeatedly pointing at various students and telling them, “You’re on my list.” This kid would not have hurt anyone. He was just making a sick joke out of a tragedy.

I gave him a little lecture, BTW, but in a public school he probably would have been referred to about 5 various agencies just for starters. As to why a Spanish class is even holding such a discussion, I would be willing to bet that the teacher is a pro-illegal trying to indoctrinate her students.

Spain would argue with you.

LOL! Spain is why most of South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and part of North America use Spanish.

I think Spanish is a beautiful language, and I'm looking forward to using it again when my children start learning it. Our family has been asked to help with music for our church's Spanish-language ministry, and that will be fun, too.

Have a gripe about immigration if you want to - I have some, too - but that has nothing to do with the basic concept of learning Spanish. I studied Spanish in school for many years, long before illegal immigration was a big issue.

I rebelled and took German. That was 25 years ago.

My kids seem to be following in my footsteps. My daughter does NOT want to learn Spanish. She wants to take German, too. :)

Brazil is sizable and uses Portuguese. You'll also find German, Italian, and Japanese used in South America (in addition to English).

Every non-european racial group in america seems to be forming up into racial groups and pushing for special rights, money and positions of power. The powers that be have been heavily supporting and encouraging this.

So why are they surprised when whites start forming together and pushing for white interests?

If you went to a Jesuit college, it’s a wonder you’re not out of the solar system by now :-).

I think that part of the problem with Catholic schools is that they are a “system,” like public schools. So they see the public schools as their model, and try to compete with technology, sports, and fluffy pedagogy. Protestant Christian schools seem mostly to be independant, and a customer can get a clearer picture of the school’s specific perspective.

The lingering Democrat influence in Catholic schools is a problem, too.

Our high school offers Latin. I think my son wants to take it next year. Of course, my brother teaches Latin at a Catholic prep school...

I won a prize in my college choir for the worst French accent the director had ever heard. I’d studied Spanish and Japanese!

Or visit Quebec. Funny how we can teach our children French when both Quebec and France have strict laws about how everything HAS to be in French. Good for some countries but not good for others I guess.

They claim this land (all the way up to Massachusetts) in the name of Mexico.

Hmm...Something else they have in common with the mohammedans.

All of that is true, although my Catholic grandparents were Democrats, and they were more conservative than me in some ways.

That’s true. And that’s so dangerously stupid as to defy comprehension. The last well-known country which went down that road, was Bosnia-Herzegovena.
