If you went to a Jesuit college, it’s a wonder you’re not out of the solar system by now :-).
I think that part of the problem with Catholic schools is that they are a “system,” like public schools. So they see the public schools as their model, and try to compete with technology, sports, and fluffy pedagogy. Protestant Christian schools seem mostly to be independant, and a customer can get a clearer picture of the school’s specific perspective.
The lingering Democrat influence in Catholic schools is a problem, too.
All of that is true, although my Catholic grandparents were Democrats, and they were more conservative than me in some ways.
