Protester removed from Fred Thompson event
CNN Political Ticker ^ | 07/25/07 | Steve Brusk

HOUSTON, Texas (CNN) – A woman screaming “you’re not a real conservative, sir” was removed by police from a welcoming reception for likely GOP presidential candidate Fred Thompson Wednesday morning. A second protester was also taken from the room.

Houston police officers escorted the woman — as well as a man — from the hangar at Hobby Airport, where Thompson was shaking hands with a crowd of supporters. They were not arrested.

The woman questioned Thompson as he talked to reporters. She asked him why he was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and noted that the organization supported the North American Union with Canada and Mexico.

Note this is an excerpt.

Why does everyone assume it’s a Ron Paul-ite? It could be a supporter of any of the candidates, Dem or Repub, or even a lone nutcase?

Because if they didn't assume and use disruptive tactics, silly accusations and name calling of other good freepers, they might have to address the subject: Fred Thompson - CFR.

“Whether or not you agree with her tactics, is this not a fair question to ask of a man running for the Republican nomination? I for one would be very interested in his answer and even more interested in why he would choose to not answer. Fred, if you want to run with the big dogs get your ass off the fence and let the people know where you stand.”

Here, take a listen for yourself:

When asked about the CFR’s plans for a NAU...

laughs....”I didn’t know they were up to that”

Not yet ready for prime time.

IMHO, Fred is the best of the bunch.

However, his membership in the CFR does bother me. I see the advancing NAU and our porous Southern border as the two biggest physical threats to our country.

In other words, another Truther for Ron Paul goes on the attack.

And Ron Paul is advocating this or is responsible for this, how?

Stop with the guilt by association tactics.

I'm a Fredhead but the SPP is a serious issue, and it would be wise for Fred to clarify his stand on this.

"He told the woman, “I try to learn as much as I can from all viewpoints.”

Ok, but what the hell does that mean? The man never addressed the question. Don't get me wrong I'm not anti-Fred, but honestly it's getting real hard to get behind this guy. Even Rudy takes a position on issues. I don't agree with him but at least I can have a score card. This guy won't commit to anything. His indecisiveness will kill him. We don't need a guy who is still learning who he is and what he stands for at 60 plus years. I need a guy who knows who he is, puts it on the table and let's the voters decide. The whole "fear me because I was on a TV series and I might run gimmick" is getting old.

“I try to learn as much as I can from all viewpoints.”

Actually, it does if you understand the CFR.. they aren't the big boogie-man trying to control the world people make it out to be..they are a think tank and they produce research papers on many sides of both issues.. for example, the infamous NAU document, not to many people have actually read the conclusions or counter articles where they show this is 1 option, but they also have options for each nation to close the borders, they have trade only options, they have expanded NORAD options (to include Mexico in the US/Canada NORAD relationship).. they have a lot of viewpoints listed for this.. it is a research article, not a plan of action.

I for one would be very interested in his answer and even more interested in why he would choose to not answer.

Were you interested in his answer enough to listen to it. She asked a question and interjected a secondary question in the middle of it. He answered the first question (the part about being a member of CFR) and dismissed the secondary question. CFR is a think-tank much like AEI and several others. It has no regulatory power and and "plans" it has for NAU or anything else are of no more or less importance than the plans or proposals of any other think-tank.

When she started in with the whole WTC-7 was an inside job nonsense she made Fred look even smarter with his decision to dismiss the whole CFR's plans for NAU part of her question.

By the way, thanks for posting the video.

Sure he answered the question. I didn’t think it was all that great a question but if your interested black helicopters and the government blowing up the World Trade center I guess it would concern you.

She is a nut because rather than asking her questions in a civilized and sane manner, she acted like a nut.

The dogs have already been let loose. Hillary sent them out when Fred announced plans to consider a run.

Ok, but what the hell does that mean? The man never addressed the question.

He did address the question. The question was about his membership in CFR? He addressed that - it is a think-tank, he is a member, he is also a member of AEI. Membership in think-tanks is all about exchange of ideas and viewpoints.
