We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
You’ve got an extra digit in your tagline.

There. I fixed it for you.
I love the graphic! Someone mentioned a formal name change for the thread, which I agree is appropriate. While the bugs will surely continue to follow the light into the eternal zap, I say we toss out some serious name ideas.
Here a couple off the cuff:

The Tipping Point: Conservatives Push Back!
They by no means have a monopoly on that behavior.
Make that:

Do you have a clue why some folks might be eying you more than a little suspiciously at the moment, notwithstanding your civil tone?
Then you must have also seen them running down Free Republic and our conservative values. Sign-on date is no indicator of values. Posting history is. I'm glad to see those who are trying to liberalize the Republican party sent packing. Especially the ones who tried to bring down Free Republic in the process. Good riddance!
You and I are told increasingly that we have to choose between a left or right, but I would like to suggest that there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down—up to a man’s age-old dream, the ultimate in individual freedom consistent with law and order—or down to the ant heap totalitarianism, and regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would trade our freedom for security have embarked on this downward course.
Ronald Reagan (in 1964!)
I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.
Abraham Lincoln
“Our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free, but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on earth for civil and religious liberty.”
Samuel Adams
This is our challenge; and this is why here in this hall tonight, better than we have ever done before, we have got to quit talking to each other and about each other and go out and communicate to the world that we may be fewer in numbers than we have ever been, but we carry the message they are waiting for.
We must go forth from here united, determined that what a great general said a few years ago is true: There is no substitute for victory.
Ronald Reagan

Thanks to all who continue to call for a return to civility and a higher level of discourse on the forum. :~) I’m glad to see it matters to other people.

Maybe because they’re unreasonably rabid and paranoid?
I’m no threat to anyone, much less the conservative movement.
Anyone eyeing me with “suspicion” is probably just getting their dander up because they recognize themselves in my posts.
You're an ass.
That post was for “ALL”
You way overestimate your abilities.
What are you babbling about?
Well, Thanks!
Rudy must be stopped

Historically, the Republican nominee will shift his positions to the left for the general election, in order to capture votes from moderates, independants and undecided voters.
Can you just imagine Rudy moving left of where he is now??
I wont vote for him now, nor will many others.
So how many more voters will he lose when he starts his shift leftward?
He may be many things, but conservative aint one of them.

Just trying to get in the spirit of things.
We are in a big war.
There are enemies without, trying to tear us down.
There are enemies within, trying to tear us down.
What is at stake is everything the Founders set us on the path for.
This election will be a critical step in that war.
Western civilization depends on us doing the right thing, even though many want to do down into decadence, easy meat for those without.
Some of us will not go down without a fight.
