We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.
One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to rule over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.
All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.
FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?
Do you really expect me to do that?
I right now pray for Jim and Free Republic and all FReepers and for America, may this site be wisely moderated. May it be well guarded against those here with evil/anti-American intent. Let no weapon fashioned against the righteous prosper. Let each of us guard our hearts and tongues and humble ourselves in Your omnipresence.
Let America continue as One Nation Under God and let FreeRepublic likewise be indivisible!
In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Did you just hear what Geraldo said?
Did you just hear what Olbermann said?
Did you just hear what Matthews said?
Did you just hear what Rosie said?
My cat has this hairball that she can't seem to be able to......
It'll be a hoot!
When someone threatens to sic the FBI on you, that's intimidation. How does the left in this country work? (rhetorical) They bully, threaten and try to intimidate those who don't agree with their view points. I don't know about you, but I don't cotton to those tactics, they have the opposite effect on me.
Me, over the top? Surely you jest? Not in my character to do such a thing. :-)
“What Hildy said was very true. The liberals hated Giuliani’s guts when he was mayor and there are still quite a few who will still freak out if you mention his name now.”
That really is no big surprise. That’s what liberals do best! Hate!!!
I see your point. Yet, with all these thin-skinned people few of them would post twice....
I think anybody can post political commentary as a blog entry over in the bloggers and personal section.
My vanity was a complaint about the increasing use of the term “I’d Hit It”. I put it over in the smoky backroom.
I write an opinion column for the local paper, and since it is published, I post it here when it’s about national politics as an “editorial”.
I usually enjoy the vanities I read, but I see the reason for discouraging them if everybody thought their opinion was important in an of itself every day, we’d be swamped by threads and couldn’t find the commentary about media stories that are the talk of the nation.
Frankly, while I understand the purpose of this site is conservative activism, my use is more to keep up on the news, and have a place to discuss the news and what it means (and what the real facts are) with a lot of other smart conservatives. A lot of times I change my opinion about a story after reading good arguments here.
And when the stories are completely political, there are some really interesting applications of conservative thought to specific cases, some of which surprise me.
I find it ironic that no one ever refers to “God’s Choice” in the creation of a child. The spin “women’s choice” seems to usurp God’s will and along with it a total lack of trust in Him for that gift of a child. I pray for the emotional healing of women who realize this after they have been convinced to have abortions. It can be devasting to them.
Amen
Thank you.
yep. Some of us talkative types have learned about that:
You’ve posted a total of 531 threads and 33,108 replies.
Although mine take place a bit more often in the religious area
The battle does not seem to be party against party any longer, but conservative against liberal within each party...pitting party members against each other. It isn't even safe to assume that people within the Republican party stand on the party platforms any more....as we have seen with Rudy!!
Jim, DO NOT compromise! We would lose the only bastion for conservatives left. We are PROUD of you!! Do not listen to the whining libs that came to pout and stomp their feet if they can't have their way. Rudy and McCain dropped in the polls and so they have to throw a fit somewhere.
To you whining libs --- take it to your own backyard! You KNOW this is a conservative place. Don't like it? LEAVE IT.
Paul Ruebens supports NAMBLA?
The main reason was that he refused to continue with the "business as usual" attitude that had led NYC down a toilet for the better part of forty years. He shook things up, he changed things, and there were a lot of people invested in the status quo who found that very frightening.
People ask me why I support Rudy, and I'll tell you, the difference in NYC now as opposed to how it was when I was here before is like night and day. Rudy did that, and it's an accomplishment that I deeply respect.
and there’s this quote:
“Political interest [can] never be separated in the long run from moral right”
Thomas Jefferson
It's not just the liberals. Have you read all of the responses to this thread? It's very discouraging.
Hilarious...!!! I am so proud of you!!!
“Rudy and McCain dropped in the polls and so they have to throw a fit somewhere.”
And will continue to drop.
I also pray for healing in women who have their baby aborted. I imagine a lot of them go through a living hell when they realize what they have done.
One problem in this country is that too many people don’t even know or believe in God. How do we reach those people and convince them that their baby is a gift from God?
I dislike that phrase, “A woman’s right to choose”. It sounds like they are picking out wallpaper or something but not deciding to end the life of their child. And when a man says that, all I can think is “You coward”!! They don’t have the balls to do the right thing.
Yikes, Delphinium, who gave you that ping list? Satan?
